Prometheus “terror” trailer brings spoilers galore

, May 16th 2012 Discuss [0]

This week a trailer has been released of Prometheus - the Ridley Scott Alien universe movie coming out this summer - which shows more than its fair share of terrifying elements thus far kept under heavy wraps by the company. The company I'm speaking of is not Weyland Industries, but it may as well be since the press materials released for the movie up until now have been a straight up graphic design fantasy straight from the minds of the future science industry which will be sending our heroes to a far away planet to explore our past. What might be the blockbuster film of the summer (if the Avengers weren't enough for you) Prometheus is celebrating its explosion of pre-release fans with a collection of film stills this week. These film stills show unseen elements in the soon to be released film including alien technology, close-ups of the actors in action on the various ships shown in the film, and a collection of ominous canopic jars. These stills add much to the notion that this film will indeed follow the Alien legacy started with the director that also commands this film, Ridley Scott. Read The Full Story

, May 2nd 2012 Discuss [5]

Our week of Prometheus continues here with the alien race we’ll be seeing here in the blockbuster of the summer: The Space Jockey. Let’s have a look at what we can infer from what we’ve seen so far.

, Apr 18th 2012 Discuss [1]

This week we sat down with 3D rig and software company 3ality Technica’s Stephen Pizzo to discuss their newest products and how they played a part in the filming of recent giant Hollywood films as Prometheus. Turns out, Pizzo (3ality Technica’s senior vice president) told us, it was Head Cinematographer Dariusz Wolski that convinced Ridley Scott that 3D was a possibility for a film such as the Alien prequel Prometheus – and that with the gear that was available today, they could film the movie the with the same ease and precision they’d be afforded with 2D equipment. In fact, 3D was made possible with essentially no extra effort on the part of the film crew; read on for the first part of the full SlashGear interview.
