Nikon's pico-projector packing Coolpix S1000pj digital camera has finally arrived for sale in the US, priced at $429.95.  Expected to begin shipping later this week, the S1000pj manages to squeeze not only a 12.1-megapixel camera with 2.7-inch LCD and 5x optical zoom, but a 10 lumen pico-projector capable of creating up to 40-inch images into a compact chassis.

Here we are again with another week in review, let’s jump right in. A new 160GB Apple TV has popped up with better integration with iTunes 9. This is a good thing, I have one season of Heroes in HD on my 40GB unit and the thing is almost full. Samsung unveiled a new home theater projector this week called the P410M. With football season now going, a projector is a great way to watch the game with life-size players, assuming your room is large enough.

The all-in-one home theater system has an integrated CD/DVD player and a mic input along with stereo speakers in one device.

You may recall back in June we talked a bit about the Samsung P410m compact projector. The little device was designed to be the mobile pro’s best friend when it comes to giving presentations. The tiny projector measures in at 5.8″ W x 2.5″ H x 5.7″ D making it much smaller than your average projector.

Well they say time files when you are having fun, but they never mention how fast time flies when you are typing your fingers to bleeding nubs to bring your wonderful readers all the gadget news fit to print and then some. Here we are again with another week in review for your reading pleasure. Spotify hit iPhone and Android devices this week. So many people grabbed the app that the free service quickly went back to invite only status. Sony unveiled a super-thin new wireless HDTV this week that makes Paris Hilton look fat by comparison. I am almost afraid to find out what the thin and feature packed set will cost.

CEDIA is in full swing and as such, there is a glut of new home theater gear to talk about and there has been for the last week. Samsung today announced a new home theater projector at the show called the A600. The projector slots into the Samsung line behind the A800 and A900 units already available.

We already talked a bit about the massive 110-pound JVC pro projector with 4K resolution yesterday. If that projector was more than your budget and space could handle, JVC also has other projectors. JVC has debuted six more projectors at CEDIA that are somewhat more affordable.

CEDIA is still going strong, and with announcements like this one from JVC, we can see why. The DLA-RS4000 is a projector with some hefty specifications, which includes the heavy lifting necessary to move this thing around. Especially compared to JVC’s earlier offerings, this new projector is a beast. And believe us when we say, the price tag reflects that statement.

JVC have outed their latest range of D-ILA home theater projectors, with a full six models on offer spanning prices from $5,000 to $10,000.  Three – the DLA-RS35, DLA-RS25 and DLA-RS15 – will be pushed via JVC’s professional products arm, while the remainder – the DLA-HD990, DLA-HD950 and DLA-HD550 – will go on sale via the consumer group.  Most impressive about all the models, though, are their contrast ratios: even the entry HD550 manages 30,000:1, while the top-spec RS35 and HD990 manage 70,000:1.
