ZTE Spro 2 Android smart projector arrives in US at AT&T

During CES 2015, ZTE introduced a smart projector running Android called the Spro 2, and it is now arriving to buyers in the United States via AT&T. The device is a 2-in-1 projector that includes hotspot features and the ability to connect to a WiFi network, as well as an Android touchscreen built into the device. There are HDMI ports, as well, for connecting devices, but it can be used completely independently of a laptop or such by accessing content through the Android interface and streaming it over Wi-Fi or a 4G LTE network.

Acer H6517ST projector is 3D-ready and now available

Acer America has introduced a new projector, the H6517ST, and it is now available. The projector offers Full HD video projection alongside some common functionality found on these products, plus a few higher-end than average features like support for 3D footage. At the extreme end, the H6517ST provides a 181-inch picture, eclipsing what you'd get from a television. Connectivity spans all the common options, including HDMI and D-Sub, among others. It is available to those in the United States for $799.99 USD.

Immersis wants to beat Xbox to IllumiRoom VR gaming

"This is just a model, the real thing will be much bigger," Immersis' enthusiastic booth team helpfully points out about its diorama, a tiny stem of 3D print-out to represent the immersive projector tech it's hoping will score it a place in living rooms. They're not kidding around, either: assuming the Kickstarter due to open later this year gets traction, the final Immersis VR projector will tower over the back of your couch, spraying the walls around your TV with an expanded gaming experience. It's not the first time we've seen attempts to break out of the TV bezel, but Immersis' approach is particularly ambitious.
