iPad printing “will come” says Steve Jobs

Steve Jobs has apparently been working on clearing his inbox again, with the latest missive from the Apple CEO being in response to a user query regarding the absence of printing from the iPad.  According to a Mac Rumors reader, Jobs replied to the question with the typicaly-terse "It will come," lending weight to previous rumors that enterprise-friendly functionality was in development for the Apple tablet.

If HP's inkjets were as interesting as this DIY Facade Printer, the company wouldn't have had to buy Palm just to get some press coverage.  The handiwork of German product designers and engineers Martin Fussenegger, Michael Haas and Julian Adenauer, the inkjet-with-attitude is capable of precisely firing individual colored dots from up to 20 feet away, creating huge - and surprisingly accurate - murals on whatever wall is unlucky enough to get in the way.

Objet Geometries Connex RP dual-material 3D printer gets video demo

Over at Core77 they've an undeniable soft-spot for 3D Printers - rapid prototyping hardware that can churn out a tangible, physical design from a CAD file or two - and so Objet Geometries new model is probably driving them into a frothing foam of glee.  The Connex RP machine is capable of manipulating two materials simultaneously: the Halo-esque soldier model below, and the complex suspension system were both assembled by the same machine in a single pass.

Remember the Sony S-Frame DPP-F700 combination digital photo frame and printer?  Announced late last month over in Singapore, the 7-inch WVGA display has just seen its official US launch, and it's expected to arrive in stores in January for around $200.  As well as displaying images on-screen - loaded either via USB or on a memory card, but frustratingly not wirelessly - the DPP-F700 can spit out 4 x 6-inch glossy prints for your mother-in-law to take away.
