Princeton has today announced a 22-inch LCD, PTFBGF-22RW, to join its basic monitor line-up in Japan. Nothing ground-breaking, just another environmental friendly 16:9 Full HD panel with entry-level spec, but more pixels resolution than its 19-inch sibling.

princeton PTFBGF 19W monitorPrinceton technology announced today an entry level LCD monitor to its current line up. The PTFBGF-19W adopts the increasingly popular 16:9 aspect ratio widescreen panel, measures in at 18.5-inch and can support a 1366 x 768 resolution. Deficit in resolution but the TN panel boasts a Dynamic Contrast of 5000:1, with brightness up to 300 cd/m2 and has a fast response rate of 5ms.

This monitor is as basic as it gets, there are no built-in USB ports and the screen is not adjustable. Connectivity is limited to a DVI port that is HDCP-enabled, and a VGA input. The viewing angles, as expected, are rather constricted at 160/170 degrees, which is quite typical for all 16:9 panel we’ve seen.

The affordable PTFBGF-19W is expected to be launched in mid December with an estimated price tag of 14,800 yen ($162).

It’s not currently bigger than Buffalo’s TeraStation Pro, but with a little fettling the Princeton DN-503AH-PDC NAS certainly could be.  Packing five 1TB hard-drives, it has a total capacity of 5TB; that’s one down on the 6TB TeraStation Pro, but since that NAS has only four bays to the Princeton’s five it has to rely on larger 1.5TB HDDs.  Switch the DN-503AH-PDC’s discs for 1.5TB versions and you’d have 7.5TB capacity, which is perhaps the largest we’ve seen on a small-business backup device.
