Samsung sets Major Galaxy announcement for August 15th

The folks at Samsung have sent our invites to the press for a "major" Galaxy-line announcement on the 15th of August, fueling rumors that a second-generation Galaxy Note device is in the works. As Samsung has already announced and released their king of smartphones, the Galaxy S III, it's time for their queen, if you might call it that, of devices in either the Galaxy Tab or the Galaxy Note line to appear. One might also hypothesize that it could be a combination of the two.

CTIA 2012 Chairman promises spectrum expansion for all

This year at CTIA, the FCC is heading up the CTIA event with commitments to sustainability through both the FCC CEO and the newest CTIA chairman Patrick Riordan of CellCom. Speaking at the first keynote of the event, Riordan noted that The Wireless Association would be bringing forth a renewed dedication to protecting against cyber attacks and would be attempting to inspire innovation and enhance productivity in all things wireless. To do this, they're seeking first ad foremost a major addition of wireless spectrum across the nation.

My CES 2012

There's no larger an event the entire year round for tech bloggers such as I, and at the moment, there's no bigger trade show for Consumer Electronics than CES - this being my first full year attending the events inside and surrounding CES 2012, I thought I'd give you a bit of a look inside what it means to be on the publisher's side of this monster storm of keynotes, meetings, and floor time. Apple may be planning to hold a media event at the end of January. Citing sources familiar with the plans, AllThingsD reveals that the event will take place in New York City and will not be hardware-oriented. This means it won't be for unveiling the iPad 3 or the much rumored Apple TV.
