I’ll be documenting my experience here in several ways, most of them being hands-on and eyes-on looks at how HP goes about bringing you their “most reliable, toughest and highest quality computers ever built”, straight from the HP Houston Campus. Apple To Unveil iPhone 5 On September 7?

Apple's fall event for unveiling new iPods usually takes place in the beginning of September, but there are reports that this year's event could pull the curtains back on the iPhone 5 instead. According to MacRumors, Japanese website Kodawarisan claims that an insider source has confirmed that this year's event will take place on September 8 Japanese time, which means September 7 in the US. Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1 To Get New TouchWiz UX On August 3, But NYC Only

Samsung is hosting an unusual press event in NYC on August 3. And we say unusual, because it's not common to see events like these in celebration of a software update. But this one is to unveil a major update to Samsung's TouchWiz UX for the Galaxy Tab 10.1 tablet. GSMA Names Barcelona Mobile World Capital 2012-2018

The GSMA, who represents mobile operators worldwide and is known for hosting the largest annual wireless conference in Europe, has just named Barcelona to be their very first Mobile World Capital from 2012 to 2018. Google Launches Voice Search and Search by Image on Desktop

What Google has revealed at their Inside Search event on June 14th, 2011 in San Francisco is, amongst many other neat items, are Voice Search and Search by Image on Desktop. While similar items have been possible in the past on Android, this is the first time they’ve been available to the home user. They’re also improved significantly in the following ways: more phrases, better understanding, and quicker results (and more accurate, too.) The results are impressive, the results perfectly accurate on stage. Will this functionality work in practice? We can’t wait!

BlackBerry PlayBook Event Invite Sent to Press

We’ve been pumped up about this device for what seems like an eternity. The BlackBerry PlayBook, now an unlikely hero in an intensely rapidly expanding and changing tablet market. What this event will certainly contain is a formal introduction to the near-final build of the PlayBook itself along with a demo and possibly the chance to bring one or two of the little beauts home with us. Odd British Man Totes Mobile in Barcelona [EXCLUSIVE]

So I was standing there, minding my own business in an oddly calm moment during the several day madhouse that was Mobile World Congress 2011, and there they were, a man who could only say “Action,” and a man who had clearly practiced his news voice for many many years. They were standing along the main drag of the convention (the whole convention is a big L shape, they were near the entrance,) and were doing multiple takes of the scene you’re about to see (completely and totally exclusively behind the scenes, of course.)

Android Community App Demoed on Motorola XOOM Tablet

We’re at the Google Android 3.0 Honeycomb event here at Google headquarters and the first thing our head man Vince does is download the Android Community application from the Android Marketplace on a Motorola XOOM. Cee-Lo No-Show at Honeycomb Intro

In a surprise appearance during the Google Android 3.0 Honeycomb event at the Googleplex today, the folks on stage got a call from none other than CeeLo Green, aka the Soul Machine, known most recently for his hit single "Forget You." This appearance was supposed to be more of a surprise early on in the program, but apparently Cee-Lo was unavailable when they called. Read The Full Story

Android Marketplace Introduces In-App Purchases, Currency Settings, Additional Giant Apps

In addition to the rest of the changes made to the Android Marketplace today, Google went on to introduce two giant changes to the way things are run in the Android Marketplace. One of them being the ability for each developer to set their own prices in each currency available. Before, this was automatic, the price being automatically converted for whichever currency the purchaser was using. The other fat change was that developers will now be able to make in-app sales. This is big news when you consider what’s going on with Kongregate on Android and the Apple App store stopping some book services from selling in-app.
