Libratone Beat wireless speakers arrive at Apple December 2010

Danish wireless audio start-up Libratone brought their Beat speakers along to IFA 2010 a few months back and promised a January 2011 release; now it seems they've gone one better, and will have them on sale in December instead. Using a proprietary wireless transmitter, the cashmere-clad speaker has a 30ft range and promises 360-degree "FullRoom" sound despite only being a single unit.

This radio consists of a 10cm cube made of nothing but cuteness. Armour acts on the idea that although they've got thousands of choices on the daily, listeners of internet radio regularly only listen to 2 or 3. Because of this, the Q2 cube allows users to select from their favorite four stations at any one time, programming them in when they turn their Q2 on for the first time by plugging them into a Mac or PC machine. After that, there's no need to ever go back to any more difficulty in using the cube other than charging up the battery.

I have to drive on a highway to get to my neighborhood and there are lots of bicyclists riding up and down the road who have on headphones and are rather oblivious to the cars whipping by at 70mph. I would think a better option for bicyclists rather than blocking off their hearing would be something like the new gear from Korean firm S&J.
