Pokemon GO, Pokemon GO Plus accessory launch date revealed

After a long wait at E3 2016, Nintendo finally gave the information that Pokemon fans have probably been waiting for. The Pokemon Go Plus accessory for the game is scheduled to launch late July. Although not explicitly stated, that can only mean that the monster-catching AR game itself will be launching at the same time. Of course, we can hope that it will be earlier, but we'll still take late July as a good sign. That is, if Niantic Labs and The Pokemon Company don't run into showstopping bugs and issues before then.

Pokemon Sun and Moon details: Battle Royal multiplayer

Today we're having a peek at a few new Pokemon Sun and Pokemon Moon details, starting with the 4x player multiplayer mode called Battle Royal. This is a new battle format that'll appear for the first time in Pokemon Sun and Moon, including four separate players (2 or 4, no more, no less), all against one another at once. You'll need to strategize to the max in this mode - it's an all-out struggle, and you don't want to be caught battling three trainers at once.

These are Pokemon Sun and Moon’s Legendaries

As you may have guessed, sunnier of the two will appear in the Sun version of the game, while the Lunar pokemon will appear in Moon. Despite their names, they will not be Sun Type nor Moon Type - nor any sort of astronomical sort of type. Solgaleo is a psychic/steel Pokemon and Lunala is psychic/ghost Pokemon. Pokemon GO field test finally arrives in the US

It will probably still be a long time (maybe never) before we can actually start seeing virtual Pokemon with our smart glasses or smart contact lenses and throwing virtual Pokeballs with our smart gloves. Pokemon GO will also test your aiming skills

The Pokemon Company and Niantic Labs may have an NDA in place that could ban you for leaking out screenshots and videos of its highly hyped Pokemon GO mobile game, but that hasn't stopped daring players from doing it anyway. Take for example this latest leak that shows off not just a quick glimpse but a full bloody 8 minutes of in-game footage. While much of the games' mechanics are known at this point, the video does underscore how you won't need to have a good throwing arm to catch a Pokemon. You just need good aim. And, of course, luck.

Nintendo should adopt The Pokemon Company’s attitude toward mobile devices

Did you know that there's going to be an augmented reality Pokemon game launched this summer? It's going to be huge. Nintendo doesn't want to let their most lucrative characters and games to be released as-is on mobile devices - not unless they're being manufactured by Nintendo. Nintendo doesn't own Pokemon. The Pokemon Company owns Pokemon. The Pokemon Company has the opportunity to show Nintendo what they've got waiting for them if they open their doors to 3rd-party device game and app releases.

Pokemon GO Beta testing is expanding this week

While the first wave of Field Testing for the augmented reality game Pokemon GO started in Japan, two new countries have been added to the fold. Pokemon Go VR with Google Cardboard confirmed

This morning we've received further confirmation that the AR game Pokemon GO will work with Google's VR headsets.
