PlayStation Vita OS coming to Sony Smartphones

It appears that with the relative success of the Sony PlayStation Vita in its relatively limited release thus far, the operating system aboard has garnered some attention in regards to a possible mobile phone port. When asked this past November what the possibility was for the operating system to be brought to mobile phones was, mister Yoshio Matsumoto, Director of Business and Sony Computer Entertainment SVP noted that though the Vita OS was made for the Vita itself, its applicability was certainly made with other devices in mind, this being the "thin edge of the wedge" for the operating system.

GameStop confirms will have PlayStation Vita midnight launch

If you absolutely have to be among the first to pick up Sony's newest game device, head to GameStop. The retailer will be offering midnight launch events at locations throughout the country. Select stores will open at 11:00 PM on Tuesday night, then as the clock strikes midnight will begin giving the Vitas to eager early adopters. Customers are encouraged to pre-order a unit on GameStop's website prior to arriving for the event, though it is not mandatory.

Sony’s ModNation Racers on PS Vita already on sale at Walmart

You won't be able to do anything with it for nearly three weeks, but if you feel so inclined you might be able to go down to your local Walmart and pick up a PlayStation Vita game. There are reports of the launch title ModNation Racers: Road Trip already being stocked on the shelves of the discount retailer. Unfortunately, you shouldn't count on being able to find an actual Vita until it goes on sale on February 22.

More than 3,300 US GameStop locations are now equipped with PlayStation Vitas. Not to buy, unfortunately, but to give anxious gamers a hands-on look at what the next generation of portable Sony gaming will offer. The demo stations contain playable builds of eight of the most anticipated Vita titles, some of which are launch games but others do not have an official release date yet.

PS Vita games will be cheaper downloaded

A Sony rep has confirmed that PlayStation Vita game titles coming to the US will be cheaper if purchased and downloaded directly from the PlayStation Network as opposed to buying the boxed copies. Discounted digital copies have been confirmed for the PS Vita in Japan, but the company has yet to make an official announcement as to whether the discount would extend to the US.
