Sony's PlayStation 4, expected to be previewed at an event in NYC today, will hit the US market by November, insiders claim, with two variants of the console in the pipeline and support for remote smartphone control. The gaming rig, internally codenamed "Orbis", will be tentatively priced at $429 and $529 for the two different iterations, Kotaku's source says, with the PlayStation Eye camera included as standard.

PlayStation Plus users have a new update incoming tomorrow, and if you're subscribed, it's one you'll probably want to pay attention to. That's because Guardians of Middle Earth - the multiplayer online battle arena (MOBA) title based in the Lord of the Rings universe - will be free for members. Guardians of Middle Earth was just recently released too, so PS Plus users are getting a relatively new game on the house with this update.

Sony will be pushing an update to its PlayStation Store tomorrow that will introduce a slew of deals that users will want to take advantage of. One of the better deals, however, is that they're releasing BioShock 2 to the ever-expanding Instant Game Collection for free this week. Sony unveils PSN Day 1 Digital program
Sony is always looking for more ways to make the PS3 standout from the likes of the Xbox 360 and Wii (soon to be Wii U), and one new way its doing that is by putting games on PSN the same day they launch at retail. Unveiled today, Sony's new "PSN Day 1 Digital" program will kick off in October with the release of Resident Evil 6, letting users purchase and download full, new games on launch day right from their couch. Even better is that PS Plus users will get to enjoy a 10% discount in some cases.

PS Vita gets PlayStation Plus in November
In addition to announcing a brand new, super-slim PS3 model at the Tokyo Game Show, Sony finally gave a time frame for the arrival of PlayStation Plus on PS Vita. Sony announced that PlayStation Plus would be coming to PS Vita back at Gamescom in July, but today it announced that PS Plus will launch November. Unfortunately, the company didn't get any more specific than that, so it looks like we'll be left waiting for additional details once again.

Sony has finally announced when PSOne Classics will begin hitting the PS Vita, telling the audience at Gamescom that the first round of Classics will be arriving on August 28. That's exactly two weeks away, but don't expect them to show up all at once. Sony says that it will be releasing PSOne Classic on the PS Vita in waves, and unfortunately we don't know which games will be first to launch on the PS Vita.

Sony PlayStation Plus bonuses boosted at E3
This week the folks at Sony's gaming sect have revealed a new selection of bonuses for subscribers to the premium service including 12 game downloads for free. This update to the program comes at Sony's set of announcements at E3 2012, adding to the lovely collection of bonuses you already get for your PlayStation 3. This new bonus program with the service was first announced back at E3 2010 and just launched in June of 2012.

PlayStation Network ‘Welcome Back’ Compensation Detailed

Sony “Classic White” 160GB PS3 Slim outed; black PS3 gets 320GB HDD boost
Sony Japan has outed their latest PS3 models, packing either 160GB or a new 320GB hard-drive, and now with more choice in color too. The PS3 CECH-2500 will drop on July 29th 2010 in Japan, available with the 160GB HDD in either original "charcoal black" or new "classic white", accompanied by a black-only 320GB version.
