PlayStation Mobile shackles Sony to gaming past

In the announcement for the PlayStation Mobile store and environment released this week by Sony is a clause that's rather tiny and is disguised as a perk: three devices allowed for each game. In the past, back before the smartphone, this sort of note would have been amazing - you mean I can play this game on my PlayStation at home as well as at my cousin Joe's house? Amazing! Now here in the present, three devices is a limit that Sony shouldn't be working with.

PlayStation Mobile aims for iPhone and Android at Gamescon

This week at Gamescon in Cologne, Germany, Sony is making a case for PlayStation Mobile, their next big phase in keeping relevant with the very smart device-minded society we now all live in. This initiative will be aiming for both Apple's mobile OS and Google's Android, but in very different ways for the both of them. While Apple's iPod nano, iPhone, and iPad are all essentially declared enemies of this PlayStation Mobile initiative, Sony is embracing Android as the only 3rd party operating system to be able to run PlayStation-certified games.

PlayStation Mobile teams with HTC for mobile gaming greatness

This week Sony is bringing some gaming heat with no less than an announcement of attack on the mobile landscape, starting with the HTC One X. This announcement has Sony changing the name of their PlayStation Suite to PlayStation Mobile and making it clear that not only will HTC be their first third-party hardware partner, they'll be working with other Android and Windows Phone groups as well.
