PS4’s most disappointing launch title seems to be getting a sequel

Back when the PlayStation 4 launched in 2013, one of the biggest first-party games from Sony was Knack, a 3D platformer/beat 'em up from in-house developer Japan Studio. The game wasn't terrible, but it turned out be another example of a mediocre launch title, getting mostly lukewarm reviews from critics. Despite all this, some evidence has come to light that indicates Sony currently has Knack 2 in development.

New Doom release date finally confirmed

Fans of game developer Id Software will soon finally be able to get their hands on the studio's newest masterpiece: the long-awaited reboot of historic FPS series Doom. Bethesda is publishing the title, coming to PS4, Xbox One, and PC, and they've just released a new campaign trailer to mark the news of a confirmed release date. Viewers can get a serious helping of gore and violence in the video below, while they'll be able to get their hands on Doom starting May 13th.

PS4 gets limited edition Uncharted 4 bundle in April

As the final installment in the popular PlayStation game series, Uncharted 4 is set to become the latest PS4 flagship title when it finally releases on April 26th. To celebrate the occasion, Sony will be releasing a limited edition PS4 console that not only comes bundled with the game, but features a custom color and image of Uncharted hero Nathan Drake on top. Pre-orders are set to begin later today, with a release on the same day as the game, April 26th.

True to LEGO re-interpretive style, the next video game from Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment is a comedic take on Star Wars: The Force Awakens. The best way to make this clear is through a new take on the original teaser trailer for the film - you know the one. ‘Lovers in a Dangerous Spacetime’ arrives on PS4 soon

The trippy game Lovers in a Dangerous Spacetime will be arriving on the PlayStation 4 early next month, giving gamers on Sony’s console a chance to voyage into psychedelic battle. The game involves a round kind of strange-but-fun spaceship in which the gamer and either a second player or an “AI pet” dash about firing all manner of weapons at “the evil forces of Anti-Love.”

Mortal Kombat XL trailer releases the date of killer expansion

The second version of Mortal Kombat X will be extra-large, containing - but not limited to - Leatherface from the Texas Chainsaw Massacre and the Xenomorph from the Alien series. The game will be called Mortal Kombat XL, and it'll roll with all of the content from the original Mortal Kombat X, released in 2015, as well as a whole new swath of oddities. Those of you that already own Mortal Kombat X, you'll still be able to bust out with all of this content just so long as you purchase the upcoming Kombat Pack 2.

‘Psychonauts’ game arrives on PlayStation 4 this spring

The classic PS2 game Psychonauts will be arriving on the PlayStation 4 this upcoming spring, according to Double Fine Productions’ James Stafford. This launch comes at a time when variations of the game are being produced; a crowdfunding campaign recently sought money to fund Psychonauts 2, for example, and Psychonauts in the Rhombus of Ruin was recently announced as an upcoming PlayStation VR exclusive.

Modders hack PS4 to run Linux and Pokemon

It's been some since we've heard about impressive mods to get game consoles running software and games they're not meant to, but thanks to Failoverflow, a collective of console hackers, there's something new to closeout 2015 with. The group has managed to hack Sony's PlayStation 4 to install the Linux operating system on it, taking advantage of the console's fairly standard PC architecture.

PlayStation 4 Christmas gift is a block of wood

A Christmas gift from no less than Santa Clause himself was opened this past week with a less-than-fantastic bit of content. Inside the box was a block of wood instead of the console itself. Cut to a similar size and placed in the box, apparently without signs of damage to the box itself. Amazing that Santa would have such a strange mishap, yes? As it turned out, Santa purchased this particular PS4 from a local Target store, where they were more than willing to take the box back and, in addition, give the parents of the gift-getter a $100 gift card for their trouble.

GoPro Channel comes to PlayStation Network

PlayStation owners that are fans of videos shot with action cams are in for a treat, as GoPro has announced that its GoPro Channel streaming service is now available on the PS4 and PS3. This comes a year and half after the channel launched an app for Xbox One. The PS4 and PS3 versions of the app will let users stream the same videos as on other platforms, so expect lots of sports, animals, action footage, and other clips filmed in HD.
