, Jul 30th 2012 Discuss [2]

Capcom is looking pretty good at the end of its first quarter for the year, thanks in no small part to the success of Dragon's Dogma. We've known for a while that Dragon's Dogma has passed 1 million units shipped, but today Capcom reiterated that figure - along with the intention of turning Dragon's Dogma into a series - in its quarterly report. , Jul 30th 2012 Discuss [91]

Last week, Bethesda VP of marketing Pete Hines sparked outrage among Skyrim fans when he pointed out that the studio hasn't announced the game's first DLC, Dawnguard, for any platforms other than Xbox 360. Now, Hines is promising that more information on the PC and PS3 versions of Dawnguard is coming soon, telling one perturbed Twitter follower over the weekend to "Just sit tight. We'll have info soon." Just how soon? A few hours ago, Hines tweeted that Bethesda should have that info later this week. Read The Full Story

Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater HD rockets to 120,000 sales

, Jul 28th 2012 Discuss [2]

Nostalgia is proving to be a powerful thing for gamers, with developer Robomodo confirming that Tony Hawk's Pro Skater HD has sold around 120,000 copies in its first week of availability. That number is pretty impressive on its own, but what makes it even more impressive is the fact that Tony Hawk's Pro Skater HD hasn't yet launched on PC and PS3, meaning those numbers are for the Xbox 360 version alone. Robomodo's Josh Tsui tells Gamasutra that day-over-day sales of the downloadable title have been "staying very consistent" throughout its first week. Read The Full Story

Crysis 3 gets 20 minute interactive gameplay video

, Jul 26th 2012 Discuss [0]

Crytek and Electronic Arts have released a new Crysis 3 gameplay video, but this one isn't like the run-of-the-mill gameplay trailers we're used to. You see, not only is this trailer nearly 20 minutes long, but it's also interactive. Truth be told, it's more of a demo than it is a trailer, as it gives us a nice extended look at the multiple ways to play through Crysis 3. Read The Full Story

Ubisoft: Desmond’s Assassin’s Creed days are numbered

, Jul 21st 2012 Discuss [5]

We've seen quite a few Assassin's Creed releases since the first one hit shelves back in 2007, and even though we've met a lot of different characters along the way, one thing has remained the same: modern-day assassin Desmond Miles is constantly featured throughout the series. That may not be the case for much longer, however, as Assassin's Creed 3 creative lead Alex Hutchinson tells Polygon that the Desmond story line has to wrap up sooner or later, presumably with the series continuing after Desmond's tale has come to an end. According to Hutchinson, the Assassin's Creed series risks losing "resonance" with fans if Desmond's over-arcing story line continues on for too much longer. Read The Full Story

Battlefield 3: Armored Kill gets new gameplay trailer

, Jul 20th 2012 Discuss [6]

Depending on who you ask, Battlefield 3 is the game to beat when it comes to military shooters. There's just one tiny problem: while Activision and Treyarch have really stepped it up with their Modern Warfare 3 DLC offerings, EA and DICE have been falling behind with Battlefield 3's. Sure, we've got Back to Karkand and Close Quarters, but those didn't really add anything that plays to the grand scale we know Battlefield is capable of. Enter Armored Kill, which takes the battle from cramped indoor locations and moves it to sprawling outdoor arenas that are perfect for some vehicular combat. Read The Full Story

Limbo could have been on PSN first, but Sony wanted IP

, Jul 16th 2012 Discuss [1]

Playdead's Limbo took the indie world by storm when it launched on Xbox Live back in 2010, but Sony could have had the game on PSN before it went to any other platforms. Instead, Limbo was exclusive to Xbox Live Arcade for an entire year before it became available on PSN and PC, and even though the game sold well on PSN when it finally did arrive, that period of exclusivity would have netted many more sales. So, why didn't Limbo hit PSN before any of the other platforms? It's because Sony botched the deal. Read The Full Story
