Netflix signs content deal with Disney

More popular movie titles are coming to Netflix, thanks to a significant deal made with The Walt Disney Company. The deal will give Netflix subscribers movies from Walt Disney Animation Studios, Pixar Animation, Marvel, and Disneynature. However, the deal actually doesn't start until 2016 -- about three years from now. Read The Full Story

We did it folks - we made it through another election, which means that we finally get a break from those endless political ads. It won't be long before those ads are playing all over the place again, so savor the moment while you can. We found out today that President Obama set Twitter records with that a tweet that was shared more 600,000 times, and Apple was hit with a hefty fine in a case over patents related to FaceTime. When you think of Steve Jobs, you may think of him as the guy who founded and ran Apple, but he was also a big investor in the animated movie studio Pixar, when he invested $10 million to purchase Pixar from Lucasfilm in 1986, and then was sold 20 years later to Disney for $7.4 billion. The studio has now named it's main building on its headquarters after the man himself. Read The Full Story

It's time for a new kind of app for the smart universe, on that focuses on the child in you - or your child, of course - and brings your toys to life with augmented reality: it's ToyTalk! The three folks behind this project were all formerly at Pixar in different positions - Martin Reddy was a lead Software Engineer, Oren Jacob was CTO, and Bobby Podesta was a supervising animator, and with their combined expertise, we're about to see speaking toy enter the smart space.
