Pioneer DJM-900nexus recalled over headphone flaw; availability now April

Bad news if you've been holding out for a new Pioneer DJM-900nexus mixer; the company has announced it is delaying availability - and recalling all units currently in the wild - after spotting a problem with the headphone system. According to Pioneer, "connecting certain headphones from other manufacturers with the volume set high can trigger a protective circuit to unnecessarily power down the unit." Read The Full Story

Pioneer just announced today three new in-car navigations systems that not only safely guide you on the road but also safely and easily integrate the features of your other devices, such as an iPhone or iPod. The NavGate AVIC-F930BT, AVIC-F9310BT, and AVIC-F30BT all feature enhanced audio, wireless connectivity, and audio streaming possible through built-in Bluetooth. Although preloaded with maps, the NavGate models can also be customized via connecting to your smartphone devices through Pioneer's proprietary NavGate Feeds PC and smartphones application. Pioneer's head-up display ambitions - which the company showed off at CEATEC 2010 earlier this year - look headed to a commercial release, with Microvision announcing that it will be providing its PicoP laser projection engine for the Pioneer Network Vision system. We shouldn't have too long to wait until the results start showing up in front of our eyes, either, as Pioneer is targeting commercial introduction of an in-vehicle HUD in 2012. Pioneer brought along its latest in-car technology to CEATEC 2010 this week, with a demo of their work-in-progress Network Vision HUD (head-up display). The system – which was being demonstrated to SlashGear Japan with screens showing the moving road ahead, and a partial windshield which you could peer through – projects animations, directions and general guidance glyphs onto the glass, overlaid on top of what’s happening in the real world.
