Pioneer Network Vision head-up display for in-car PNDs due 2012 [Video]

Pioneer's head-up display ambitions - which the company showed off at CEATEC 2010 earlier this year - look headed to a commercial release, with Microvision announcing that it will be providing its PicoP laser projection engine for the Pioneer Network Vision system. We shouldn't have too long to wait until the results start showing up in front of our eyes, either, as Pioneer is targeting commercial introduction of an in-vehicle HUD in 2012.

The folks at AAXA Technologies presents a version 2 of the world's first laser powered pocket projector. This AAXA L1 v2 Laser Pico Projector improves upon the first by increating thermal efficiency of its PCOS laser light engine. Now only do you get color, this device's three-color laser light source enables it to procude images with fabulous color saturation, always in focus. Sounds pretty neat, yes? Sounds pretty fantastic. This pocket projector combines a "revolutionary" laser light source, proprietary despeckling technology, and an LCoS imager to produce 800 x 600 resolution and 20 lumen output with no pixelation problems.

Ordro HDV-D350S pico-projector HD camcorder outed

Ordro isn't a well-known brand for camcorders around these parts, but the company's new HDV-D350S is looking to grab some headlines by virtue of its integrated pico-projector.  The D350S records up to 60fps 1440 x 1080 video or 12-megapixel stills, but also has a removable pico-projector attachment that slots onto a mount on the top of the camera; that can project up to a 60-inch WVGA picture.
