NOOKcolor Demo

Our man in the field Vincent was at PEPCOM last night and got his hands on a NOOKcolor, checking it out a bit and even having a lovely demo done in front of the camera. It was here that we got to see firsthand a working model of the NOOKcolor device and all of the lovely features available on it at the launch. This is Barnes & Noble’s 7-inch “ultimate reading device” of which there is “no more iconic, thin, [or] comfortable [an] ereader.” Sound pretty snappy. Our presenter went through all of the clicks, pinches, and drags in turn.

Asus Eee PC 1015PEM Netbook Now Available in the US for $399

Just a couple of days ago, Asus took some time at PEPCOM to announce a plethora of new hardware, ranging from netbooks to PCs. And while the announcement did well to let people know what was coming, Asus wasn't very clear on when each piece of new technology would find its way to the market, let alone where in the world they would be launching. As the title might suggest to you, PEPCOM is happening tonight. And, while it's one way to get people to meet and greet, it's primarily just another avenue for companies to show off and announce new pieces of technology. ASUS is taking full advantage of it, and they've just gone and announced a plethora of new toys that people would want to get their hands on. Lenovo S12 NVIDIA Ion netbook 1080p video demo

SlashGear stopped by the Pepcom Digital Experience in New York this week, and caught up with one of the more interesting netbooks on the horizon: Lenovo's S12. While it may physically resemble one of the company's previous models, albeit with a larger 12.1-inch display, what makes the S12 really special is the NVIDIA Ion chipset inside. The Qosmio G45-AV690 is an amazing laptop with it being the first notebook with an HD-DVD R/RW drive being one of the many new features. It’s a 17-inch notebook with a 1080p resolution for HD-DVD playback. This Toshiba laptop also has the OpenCable or OCUR chipset in it allowing you to have a digital tuner for recording digital or analog TV both over the air or from a Digital cable service and even allows the use of a CableCard.

CES 2008: Pyramat Laptop Sound Booster

Pyramat had one other game enhancing product that was really hard to miss, the Laptop Sound Booster, and I can vouch for the boosting ability… I could barely hear myself think as I came up to it. It has two full range illuminating speakers and connects via USB. It definitely amplifies the sound and can support laptops up to 17”. Pyramat which is all about performance gaming had a few different gaming chairs on show tonight. I got a relatively good look at two of them, the PM450-WR Sound Rocker and the PC Gaming Chair 2.1. The PM450-WR Sound Rocker has speakers and a subwoofer with wireless audio reception. It has a cordless rechargeable battery and iPod,Mp3,DS Lite and PSP input. There’s a 24GHz wireless transmitter and it’s made from breathable microfiber fabric. Check out this nifty little gadget from Parrot! It connects to just about any helmet because it has some pretty flexible mounting options. On the outside you have the mic and the majority of the hardware and then they were ingenious enough to move the speakers to the inside of the helmet and they give you several different options mounting that on the inside of your helmet.
