Inmotion v3 Electric Unicycle hands-on: self-balancing and smooth

Inmotion v3 Electric Unicycle hands-on: self-balancing and smooth

The third version of the Inmotion Electric Unicycle is here, and it's a much smoother experience than the rest of the self-balancing unicycles we've used in the recent past. Which is silly to say because it's not like we use self-balancing unicycles all that often - or ever. Inmotion basically has the market cornered. Here at CES 2015, at least, there's really nothing like it. Riding around on a unit that lets you turn with a flick of your hip - that's the future of one-wheeled transportation.

HTC Desire 826 hands-on: Ultrapixel selfie machine

The team at HTC haven't brought their next super-hero phone to CES 2015 (not yet, at least), but they have brought a bit of a surprising piece of hardware. This is the HTC Desire 826, another selfie-friendly device the likes of which we've seen in a very similar model - the HTC Desire EYE. Unlike the EYE, this Desire 826 is coming to market with two different models, each with a different front-facing camera. One replicates the EYE with 13-megapixels, the other with 4-Ultrapixels, the same as the back-facing camera on the HTC One.

Sony SmartEyeglass Attach hands-on: any glasses made smart

Last year Sony revealed their first SmartEyeglass prototype to a bit of a tepid crowd - this year they've been a bit mum about the project as it hits a second generation. The "SmartEyeglass Attach!" as its called works with a high-resolution color OLED Microdisplay near the right eye and works with its own high-powered ARM Cortex A7 processor. It's made to be a bit more versatile than the original, and here aims to get sporty as well - look how well they attach to a pair of snowboard goggles, for instance - so sport-ready!

LaCie Mirror Hard Drive hands-on: not to be touched

The LaCie Mirror is a hard-drive for those that keep very good care of their electronics. Not to be dropped, jabbed, or fingerprinted, this machine's outer bits were designed by Pauline Deltour, made to be displayed on an ebony stand that comes with the unit. This device has 1TB of storage inside as well - if you actually want to use it for its intended functionality, of course. You could potentially also use it for a mirror, as it is exceptionally reflective and set at an angle that supports you looking at yourself.
