Ricoh has taken the wraps off another silver commemorative camera, this one being the Pentax K-3 II Silver Edition. The model is offered to commemorate the company’s 80th anniversary, and brings with it a magnesium-alloy camera body with the same silver finish as the Ricoh GR II announced in recent days. Ricoh plans to launch the camera later on this spring season.

Pentax K-1 DSLR brings full-frame sensor, a dozen lenses

As anticipated, Ricoh has announced its new full-frame and highly anticipated K-1 DSLR. The camera, which will be shipping in April, features a 36.4-megapixel full-frame AA-filterless CMOS sensor alongside a weather-sealed body and advanced features. Ricoh says the new Pentax model “is unique in the industry” and suitable for a variety of challenging shooting conditions. The camera body will launch alongside a dozen full-frame lenses.

In April, Ricoh introduced its Pentax K-3 II DSLR camera, and now a couple months later it is issuing a service advisory: some owners may experience issues with the camera failing to shut off even when toggled to "OFF". That presents some obvious issues, but appears to be fairly limited in scope. The camera company has detailed which owners may be affected, and will proceed with repairs if necessary. In addition, Nikon has issued an advisory regarding a shutter problem with some of its D750 cameras.

Ricoh has just unveiled a new premium compact digital camera that it is touting to have DSLR qualities. Ricoh has introduced an update to the Pentax K-3, and most aptly it is called the Pentax K-3 II. There are some improvements that come along with it, including the addition of GPS to complement its rugged design. The shake-reduction technology has been improved, there’s integrated Astrotracer, and high-speed auto-focus, among other things. The camera won’t be launching until some time next month (a specific date wasn’t provided), and it’ll be priced at $1,099.95 USD when it does.

The Pentax K-S1 camera Ricoh introduced in late August will be arriving again in a new collection called the Sweets Collection. Under this, the camera will stay exactly the same in terms of hardware and features, instead arriving with a colorful makeover in cheery, nearly pastel colors. There are a total of three new colors (in addition to the original camera that launched), with Ricoh deciding to give them all saccharine sweet names: Strawberry Cake (red/pinkish), Blue Cream Soda, and Lime Pie.
