Pentax K-3 II camera brings GPS, rugged design, and more

Ricoh has introduced an update to the Pentax K-3, and most aptly it is called the Pentax K-3 II. There are some improvements that come along with it, including the addition of GPS to complement its rugged design. The shake-reduction technology has been improved, there’s integrated Astrotracer, and high-speed auto-focus, among other things. The camera won’t be launching until some time next month (a specific date wasn’t provided), and it’ll be priced at $1,099.95 USD when it does.

The first Pentax K-3 was made public in 2013, so it's not an understatement to say that a second generation is long overdue. Ricoh has come out with the successor to last year's Pentax K-S1 and this time it is doing things a bit differently. For one, the Pentax K-S2 got rid of that odd line of flashing LED lights. Ricoh is also selling this camera to be its smallest DSLR yet but still rugged enough to withstand rain and dust. And, for the first time in its Pentax K series, the camera features its own built-in wireless LAN connectivity, making it easy to remotely control the camera as well as share them with the Internet.

PENTAX K-S1 Sweets Collection adds rainbow of colors

The Pentax K-S1 camera Ricoh introduced in late August will be arriving again in a new collection called the Sweets Collection. Under this, the camera will stay exactly the same in terms of hardware and features, instead arriving with a colorful makeover in cheery, nearly pastel colors. There are a total of three new colors (in addition to the original camera that launched), with Ricoh deciding to give them all saccharine sweet names: Strawberry Cake (red/pinkish), Blue Cream Soda, and Lime Pie.
