Pentax has unveiled a new digital camera that has a nice retro style design and comes in three colors called the K-01. The camera is offered in black, silver, and yellow. Pentax has launched its latest interchangeable lens camera, the Pentax K-01, designed by Marc Newson and compatible with standard Pentax K-mount DSLR lenses. Offered in black, silver or Newson-trademark yellow, the K-01 wraps an aluminum frame around a 16-megapixel APS-C CMOS sensor and a 3-inch 920k dot LCD preview display, delivering Full HD 1080p 30fps video recording (or 60fps 720p).

Pentax K-01 mirrorless camera teased in press photos

A wave of cameras is coming to crash upon the shores of the public late this winter, and the most recent tease is a Pentax K-01 mirrorless shooter designed by no less than Marc Newson. It may seem a bit odd to those of you who are familiar with the work of Newson as his most famous work is that of a "biomorphism" full of flowing lines and a tendency to refrain from all sharp edges. What this camera appears to be instead of that is a rather blunt looking instrument with features piled onto one another in a series of transformers. Pentax has outed its new interchangeable-lens camera, the Pentax Q, and it has whipped the “world’s smallest” titles from out from under the nose of the Sony NEX-C3. The 12.4-megapixel Q has a 1/2.3 inch backlit CMOS image sensor and uses a new Q mount system; there’s in-camera HDR, Full HD 1080p 30fps video recording, sensor-shift shake reduction and 5fps continuous shooting.
