Altec Lansing MX5021-THX 2.1 Speaker System

Altec Lansing MX5021-THX 2.1 Speaker System

If you are into quality speakers without looking deep into your pockets, look no further. Altec Lansing has just released the latest MX5021-THX 2.1 Speaker System. If you don't know what the fuss is about THX, it's a sound qualifying standard developed by well known Star Wars director, George Lucas. He's a fuzzy guy to sound, so if something is THX certified, it means its pretty good! The MX5021 speaker system gives out 90 Watts RMS of sound power, with the sub-woofer rated at 50Watts and the satellite speakers 20Watts each. The satellites are magnetically shielded, however the subwoofer is not. It's highly unlikely that you would put a subwoofer close to a CRT monitor anyways. So, this is definately a good buy.

No more WMP on Apple.

No more WMP on Apple.

Microsoft will stop the development of its Windows Media Player for Mac’s OSX; instead they will make a special codec that will allow Apple’s own software play Windows Media Files. The decision was made due to the main development focus on its new version of windows and not Mac’s software. This will be a positive thing since the current version of WMP has not been updated for a long period of time and Mac users will prefer to use QuickTime instead of an outdated WMP.

A Dual-Core FX-60 And The End Of Socket 939

A Dual-Core FX-60 And The End Of Socket 939

Intel's recent introduction of the Pentium Extreme Edition 955 has boosted Intel's reputation in the marketplace. This is due, in part, to the chip giant's new 65 nm process, which has helped to set a new performance threshold. However, Intel has only had a few days to bask in its glory: AMD's dual-core Athlon 64 X2 5200+, which is also AMD's last Socket 939 device, bests almost all of Intel's performance superlative claims, according to our benchmarks. The Athlon 64 FX-60 features include the integration of two processor cores into a single die, each of which has a 1 MB L2-cache, and a 2.6 GHz clock speed.
