Parrot is taking a venture off the beaten trail with this little beauty. Can’t seem to find a spot for it on the dash of your car? Good, because it doesn’t go there. The Parrot “Boombox” is Parrot’s first entry into the vast and competitive world of in-home speaker stations. Let us all hope that this is only the beginning of Parrot’s fight into the home stereo market.

The Parrot Boombox is a Bluetooth based speaker system that will link to your Bluetooth 2.0 cell phone, MP3 player or even your laptop. It truly fills the room with all of those songs that were so longing to be freed from the mono speaker, low quality sound that a lot of devices deliver.

Can I haz cheeseburger now?! Alright that photo is a little creepier, even creepier is the fact that this digital photo frame basically acts like a phone, and can receive, and then displays, MMS messages from anyone. It has a SIM card and everything.

There are also USB and SD card slots for those not wishing to display the public indecency that was captured on their phone the night prior. There are also position and light sensors to help keep the image on display, as shameful as it may be, viewable.

The 3.5-inch Bluetooth picture frame was a good start, but the bigger and more colorful 7-inch, 720×480 pixel screens is much better! The new frame has 128MB of internal memory, which holds about 500 pictures. Also, it’s got a sensor that automatically adjusts the screen brightness depending the lighting in the room.

Overall, the frame looks great in tan leather or black finishes. You’ll be able to pick these up for $249 sometime in the spring.

I’ve made my opinion clear about lacklustre digital photo frames – basically, if they don’t have some sort of wireless built in then they better expect to receive my wrath!
