Exmovere has partnered with AT&T to offer parents of newborns a new way to monitor their babies using today’s latest gadgets. The company offers a patented baby pajama called the Exmobaby that measures critical vital signs and transmits this data wirelessly to the parent’s smartphone, tablet, or PC.

The biosensors in the Exmobaby pajama measures vital signs such as heart rate, skin temperature, moisture, and movement. The data is then sent intermittently at regular intervals to the designated smartphone, tablet, or PC via AT&T’s wireless network. The data is also used to interpret a baby’s emotional state and sends alerts when a baby requires attention.

The Exmobaby system gives parents or caregivers useful biophysical data to monitor infants and help bring peace of mind to new parents. However, the device does not offer diagnosis or treatment and the availability and price have not been announced yet.

You’ve got a choice when it comes to getting your baby around in style, and if 4moms has anything to say about it, the Origami Stroller is going to be both your most expensive and most awesomely Jetsons-styled choice. You’ll be paying a grand total of $850 USD plus tax to take your child in a unit that uses wheel-mounted dynamos for battery charging and its electronic folding and unfolding system. Have a look at the demonstration video and see if this is exactly what you want the first couple years of your baby’s life to revolve around.

Also inside the stroller you’ll find running lights, a kid-in-seat sensor, a pedometer (of course) and an assortment of other less mentionable but just as fantastic implementations of future adult oriented technology – like an LCD screen! The one thing this stroller will not do is ward off, as Cory Doctorow reminds us, the hoards of pro-walking devils that would lay waste to your sense of good parenting when you’ve got a child with two perfectly good legs and feet sitting comfortably in a rolling seat. But just look at what it can do!

Now that’s what I call an advanced bit of strolling technology — is it worth the $850 USD it costs to own though? I’m not so sure of that, especially since I’d feel strange putting a piece of equipment that costs almost as much as my laptop alongside my camping supplies. Or perhaps this is only for those who bring their strollers along with them into restaurants. Either way, this stroller isn’t quite out on the market yet, but it will be soon! 4moms to the rescue with buttons!

Baby monitors have gone from your average audio device to the overly complex it seems. Now we have video and night-vision cameras and this latest version which has a motion sensor pad to detect all movement or lack thereof.

The pad does have one very major perk, it could detect early warning signs of issues related to Sudden Infant Death Syndrome. Which would put many parent’s minds at ease, since that is a scary thing.

The device tracks movements through the pad and provides audio and visual information that the parents can carry on them while trying to clean up really quickly as the baby sleeps. Although I think a beep going off every time they moved would drive me nuts after a while. The monitor is being sold for right around $80.

For those of you that actually want offspring this little gadget has been released to the general public to purchase. Granted not for cheap, but it would be a useful device for those that are trying for a baby or two.

The heat-sensing skin patch records the temperature of the woman wearing it which will help indicate when she is ovulating. Which is nothing all that new, there are cheaper tests out there to do the same thing.

However, this records over 20,000 more temperature readings than the other ones on the market. It also records those readings through a card reader which is included or can also be downloaded on the computer through USB. It is expected to be sold for about $1,000 in Europe sometime later this year.

Kids have always had a tendency to wander off, no matter how much of a careful parent you are they still like to push their limits. Some parents have had special devices that attaches the kid to them if they are in an overly populated area like the zoo. This little bracelet offers a slightly more chic way to keep tabs on your offspring.

There are two different pieces to this, one is a bracelet for the little one and the other a bracelet for you. Most of the time it appears to be just an average watch. However, when the child steps out of a certain radius, which you program in, it will alert you by vibrating.

Then the LCD screen will point in the direction they are in and tell you the exact distance. Hopefully the kid isn’t too mischievous and doesn’t just slip it off and put it on a random object. The bracelet was designed by Continuum Studio.

Well hell has officially frozen over. Someone has created a game that pulls the kids away from the TV and video games. I know, I’m just as shocked as you are. I mean the nerve, telling them to play games.

Swinx is a Dutch game system, which I should have known. Don’t they know the American way?! We prefer our kids sitting quietly in front of the TV damn it. Well to use the game you just slap the wrist band onto your kid and their friends and the clover will tell them what games to play, how to play them and keeps score too.

It even cheers for them so you don’t have to. Honestly, that little clover thing sounds entirely too bossy to me. The clover also tells stories and will play music, which would be nice for bedtime.

Especially if you aren’t used to doing it, or just have always taken such hot showers yourself that you can’t really feel when the water is too hot for the younger ones.

This cute little thermometer floats in the tub letting you know if the water is entirely too hot. It would even blend in well with other bath toys floating about.

The cute little thermometer is made of soft plastic, so you won’t have to worry about your little ones getting hurt with it. It is being sold for $12.

It is always nice when the creator of a product has a bit of personal motivation guiding them. One Aussie dad created this product in reaction to an accident his wife was in while pregnant, causing his unborn child brain trauma.

Unfortunately it is still a Beta product, so there is a lack of actual proof as to whether or not this seat helps prevent the trauma to the womb. Apparently 3% of pregnant women get into a car accident, which isn’t all that shocking but a solution for the seatbelt should probably be looked into.

The seat is a sit-on platform with a hook that holds the seatbelt across the woman’s thighs. Taking the pressure off of the belly. Unfortunately the seat is currently being sold for $188, but hopefully a more cost efficient product will be created at some point. One that is proven to work, and not just hopefully works.

If you’re stuck carting your kids around at the park and other family affairs, that wagon you pull them in might be getting a bit heavy. If you need an extra boost to keep you going all day, this little guy with its motor might be just the boost you need.

Although I’d be a bit annoyed if I saw a kid pulling around a motorized wagon, I can understand a parent with a couple toddlers needing some extra help. The wagon doesn’t go over 2 ½ mph so there is no need to worry about it towing your kids at high speeds or anything.

All of the controls are directly on the handle, you will have to press a button to let the wagon know if you need to go forwards or backwards. It runs off of a 12-volt rechargeable battery, if you charge it for 8 hours the wagon will run for an hour. It is being sold for $179.95.

Parents today are stuck making trying choices to do with technology and gaming and generally speaking they don’t have enough knowledge to make a decent decision. Well a site has finally been created to let parents know what to watch out for in games. No, it doesn’t just say blood, or violence. It actually goes into a lot of detail as to what might be a problem with young children.

When entering the site I was very happy to find the reviews done by someone who doesn’t think games in general are the devil or are ruining our society. It was a pretty unbiased statement, sometimes in comments below parents felt like it was worse than they had stated. However, overall they seemed to keep most things covered.

WhatTheyPlay.com allows you to search for whatever game you’re curious about, instead of trying to navigate your way through categories. Any parent who doesn’t feel like they have quite enough information about a game can find everything from Dora the Explorer to the more violent Call of Duty 4. They even have a review for Brain Age 2.

The Pocketfinder is a small personal GPS. It’s purpose is to help parents keep track of their children when playing or even someone with down syndrome, Alzheimer’s or autism. Heck, you could even use this device to keep track of a valuable asset if your wanted as it’s only about the size of an oreo.

Not only can you locate the Pocketfinder at any given time, you can set up safe zones/areas and the Pocketfinder will alert you if it goes out of your set boundaries. It’s waterproof and virtually indestructible and I think it’s a wonderful idea.

It’ll cost you around $100 plus the online service fees but really what price wouldn’t you pay for the safety of your children?

It doesn’t do little flips, it is just a camera that clips to the crib or can stand alone on a nightstand or wherever else needed. It would be a nice change to all the boring cams, and would easily blend in with any baby décor.

The cam comes in pink, yellow and blue. To use the camera just plug it in and turn it on, it has four different channels to select from. The receiver features a 2.5 in. screen, the set costs $265. It’s a bit odd that the cam advertising simplicity has the price of one of the extremely complex units. Apparently beauty is a bit more expensive than brains.

I would like to start off by saying, I have no children. However, I have somehow managed to always have some kind of small child in my life that I take care of from time to time. I’ve worked daycare, had baby nieces and even helped with a few different friends kids. No matter how much experience I have I still dread taking a child’s temperature.

At one point I bought stickers that were thermometers but they were so hard to read that I had to give up. This Thermofocus accurately checks the child’s temperature without inserting it anywhere or trying to get them to hold still long enough for you to put it under their armpit. The other horrible task is worrying if the bath, the bottle, or the food is too hot. I’d might be ok if I were scalding my own child, but it just seems wrong to do it to other people’s children.

The thermometer from Kidz-Med never touches the child. You just point it at their forehead and it will take an accurate reading. Its an expensive thermometer at $99.95, however it’d be great for foster parents and daycare centers. Well that and that one person in the family that just can’t seem to stop reproducing.

For those that lose their children as much as they lose their keys now there is a similar solution. There have been beepers to add to your keys for those times when they seem to wander off all on their own. Why not just attach one of those beepers to your pesky offspring? This Giggle Bug Toddler Tracker is exactly that, a key tracker created for children.

Now when you happen to lose your child there is this cute little remote that you can press that will emit a beep of 85 decibels. Ironically 85 decibels is the exact number where prolonged exposure can cause hearing loss. Don’t worry though, it doesn’t actually cause pain until 140 decibels. Just try not to lose your child on a regular basis or it could damage their hearing.

To use you of course keep the remote on you and clip the little noise maker to your child. The set costs $25.64.

Even if you’re not really a geek, it could even be a small bash on the daddy. Although the tee does have that slight moo moo feel, one of those belts slipped on giving you that empire waist might give it a little extra shape.

To get your own it will only cost you $17.99. Although no guarantee that it won’t cost you more money later when you have to put your child through therapy for being labeled even before leaving the womb.
There have been rumors that cellphones cause cancer among many others. Well expecting mother’s might get a little nervous about all of this, since they now have an unborn child to worry about. Well now you can check out MummyWraps to keep your baby safe.

I’m a bit up in the air about the whole electrosmog thing, but I am willing to admit it is possible. Mostly because I don’t have a clue about any of it. Well if you are concerned about it this MumyWrap is a little belly wrap that can be worn on top of or underneath your clothing. It will protect your baby from all of the “electrosmog” emmitted from laptops, microwaves, x-rays, radar, tv, cellphones, etc.

The device is made of Swiss-Shield fabric which theoretically shields you from EMR. Swiss-Shield fabric is basically a copper-based cotton. The wraps are priced at $69.95.

What is truly creepy is that they have a video where a woman places the baby in the stroller and then shoots at the stroller herself. Then happily takes her child out who is perfectly content, almost as if she has just randomly shot at him several times before.

The stroller is priced at $599 and is able to convert and grow with your baby. The stroller has a testimony from a woman who highly recommends the stroller. Apparently there was a freak hunting accident and the child was unharmed thanks to the stroller. Here’s a thought, don’t take your baby with you in the woods during hunting season.

I drove my baby niece like three blocks and the whole way I was going at least 15 mph below the speed limit. After that I understood a little more about those stupid ugly signs. However, if it’s absolutely necessary why not have some fun with it.

Unfortunately, since there is no sign of anyone selling these on the net, you will have to make your own version at home. Though I’m not quite sure where you can get a baby doll that looks that angry.

I remember when the greatest bed a kid could have was one of those race car beds, well at least for the boys. Us girls kind of got the short end of the stick the best we could get was bunk beds or something pink. I would have killed to have this Boomhut bed it even comes in girl colors.

I occasionally find myself a bit too envious of kids these days. Then I remember I can stay out until 3am and no one yells at me. However, this bed does make you miss childhood a little. I’m sure any child that was given this would worship you for all eternity.

I’d buy this for your kids when they are really young that way you get the maximum amount of use out of this because it doesn’t come cheap. It’s priced at just slightly under $2,000.

High chairs are one of those obnoxious necessary things that are good for about a year and a half. Soon after that kids need a booster seat or a phone book to sit at the table depending on your price range. The new HiLo high chair is one of best designed high chairs because it can adapt to your child’s needs.

Designers are starting to get smart with convertible cribs that turn into beds for toddlers and then a headboard for a twin bed. It’s about time they started re-thinking the high chair as well. The high chair flips over and becomes a seat that can scoot up to the table with the rest of the family. It is created to last from 6 mos. to 6 years. The overall design is chic enough to fit into any kitchen.

It isn’t released for retail yet, but it soon will be. Once it is it will be priced right around $425. Hopefully the design will catch on and a couple more reasonably priced designs will be released as well.

Do you cringe a little when you see those perfect soccer moms and all their boring designer baby accessories? I swear they look like they’ve never had a hair out of place, and to do so would be catastrophic. Well this Mama Board would be a fun way to rebel against the silly mommy stereotype.

I love anything that’s completely off the wall with parenting accessories. Just because you had kids doesn’t mean you still can’t have a bit of fun. The Mama Board is a stroller with a skateboard attached to the underside. It comes equipped with brakes to keep you from getting overzealous and wheeling you and your small children into a tree

Supposedly the Mama Board is about $80 not including shipping. However, the manufacturer’s site is having some issues so I can’t actually confirm that at this time.

If you’ve ever had to change a baby boy’s diaper you have likely had to deal with the fear that he might decide to go before you can get the new diaper in place. These cones are slightly humorous but they do have definite practical uses.

I used to work in a daycare and every diaper change it was the race to get the new one on before any “accidents” happen. I always kept an extra set of clothes at work, sad, but true. These cones are meant to prevent the boys from getting any on you while changing their diaper. Just place the cone over the intended area. The only issue is that kids don’t hold still when you change them, a lot squirm or attempt to crawl away. How exactly do you keep the cone in place?

The cones are made out of cotton and are machine washable. They also come with a laundry bag to place the soiled cones in and have a total of five cones. The set costs $12.

Some things that are targeted just for babies to toddlers at times seem wasteful. I mean, they are going to grow out of it in a few years anyway, so what is the point? However, the lamp is so cute that it’s hard to resist.

I would love to buy one for my baby niece, but $90 seems like a bit much.
Many women are against the video monitors saying they made them too anal about their child’s safety. However, I seriously doubt that they could argue over how convenient the NScessity compact baby monitor would be.

Baby monitors have changed in many ways the past few years, but ironically they really haven’t gotten that much smaller. This is kind of funny since we can fit so much into a cell phone and it can still be small, but something as simple as a baby monitor has to be bulky. NScessity has moms covered; these monitors are roughly the size of an egg. Who wouldn’t prefer this over the former models?

The NScessity compact baby monitor can even be worn around your neck leaving you with your hands free. Giving you the freedom to catch up on the mess you’ve made with the new baby around. Unfortunately, convenience always comes at a price; these monitors are priced at around $100. Which is a little steep for the average parent, but I’m sure some would still be willing to find the dough for it.
