Pantech Impact now available on AT&T network

We learned back in October that the Pantech Impact was coming to the AT&T network in time for the holiday season. What we didn’t hear back in October was exactly when the device would be offered. The Impact handset is now available on the AT&T Wireless network for $99.99 after a mail-in rebate.

AT&T Samsung Mythic & Flight, Pantech Reveal & Impact all get Opera browser

If you fancy a new phone from AT&T, but aren’t too fussed about Windows Mobile 6.5, then the carrier has four more options for you to choose from.  Left to right you’re looking at the Samsung Mythic, the Samsung Flight and the Pantech Reveal, which offer differing combinations of full touchscreen and hardware keyboard.  Meanwhile there’s also the Pantech Impact, not pictured, with an OLED touchscreen and full QWERTY.

AT&T’s Pantech Matrix Pro gets official

The new Pantech Matrix Pro, previously reported as Pantech Duo 2, is now official with AT&T. The company has today announced the successor to Pantech Duo, adding a smaller but more feature-rich and upscale smartphone with a 2.4-inch display. As expected, the Matrix Pro now features a full-fledged Windows Mobile 6.1 and also incorporates the signature dual sliding keyboards – both numeric and QWERTY – from the previous model.

Pantech Duo 2 clears FCC

The Pantech Duo 2 has cleared the FCC, with the same dual-sliding design – incorporating both numeric and QWERTY keyboards – but now running Windows Mobile 6.1.  The original Duo was better known as the Helio Ocean, but there was also a GSM version on AT&T.  The Duo 2 (aka the C820) has a 2-megapixel camera and dual-band 850/1900 GSM/EDGE/WCDMA.

CES 2008: Drop Phone Best of Innovations Honoree

The Drop Phone (AKA Shooting Star), which was designed by fuseproject is said to “resemble a drop of water with a refined taste and sophistication”. It’s a fully functioning intuitive phone and it looks beautiful.

It is, as the title said a Best of Innovations 2008 Honoree, even though Pantech said they wouldn’t be exhibiting this year. I think it’s sort of gutsy to put the word “Drop” in the name of your phone but it takes guts to make it.
