MacBook Pro reboot appears in benchmarks for 13 and 15-inch iterations

Those of you waiting for the next-generation MacBook Pro line will do well to keep eyes tuned to the benchmark world this week where two new models have appeared with GeekBench, a 15-inch reboot popping up today. This set of new devices do not yet have one whole heck of a lot of details attached to them as such, but what we can see is telling. Both devices, for instance, work with a custom build of Apple's newest desktop operating system OS X Mavericks.

Apple promised us a software-rich WWDC this year, and the company delivered. While iOS 7 looks set to be the biggest change in the company's mobile offering since the original iPhone, OS X Mavericks teased the latest refinements to Apple's desktop platform. Not so flashy as iOS 7, perhaps, or as sweeping in its changes, but no less important as Apple continues to join together the dots between its platforms. Mavericks is still a work-in-progress, but Apple provided us with a recent build of the new OS X to get to grips with the highlights - and pick out the key changes - ahead of its full release this fall. WWDC 2013 software wrap-up: iOS 7 and OS X Mavericks lead the way

This year's WWDC keynote revealed both the next generation in Apple's mobile operating system and their change of name re-track of their desktop-based OS X. With iOS 7, Jony Ive's look and feel are rather apparent with a top-to-bottom adjustment to the operating system along with some pointed connections to the desktop side of things. Apple's update to OS X, on the other hand, sees a slightly less drastic adjustment happening: and no, that's not OS X Sea Lion, it's more of a wave sort of situation.

Mac Pro will be “assembled here in the USA”

Apple's WWDC 2013 developers conference has revealed a new iteration of their Mac Pro machine, taking on a tube-like appearance and coming in as what very well may be Apple's first fully-USA-manufactured machine. Apple's word thus far is that this next-generation Mac Pro will be "assembled here in the USA", which could mean that it'll be manufactured in part internationally.

OS X Mavericks adds Finder Tabs, Tags, and Multiple Displays

This week Apple has launched into the desktop world with what was assumed to be OS X 10, but was revealed to switch gears with the name "OS X Mavericks". This desktop operating system will be bringing on Finder Tabs, Tags, and Multiple Display functionality to the desktop world. Each of these elements will be added in the next generation of MacBook and desktop machines through 2013.
