Apple's AirPlay could end up a little more flexible thanks to Onkyo, with a new dock promising to add support for the streaming standard to existing A/V kit. The Onkyo DS-A5 iPod/iPhone/iPad Docking Station recharges your iPhone or iPad, but also acts as an AirPlay bridge between them and a variety of home entertainment kit, with the possibility of funneling your music across an ethernet network too. Onkyo adds streaming capability via app and Bluetooth adapter

Onkyo has announced some new additions to its 2012 receiver line including a Bluetooth adapter and upgraded apps. Onkyo has upgraded its iPhone and Android apps along with announcing the company's first Bluetooth adapter for streaming music using its receivers. The upgraded Onkyo Remote 2 app for the iPhone allows music to be streamed from the iPod touch or the iPhone directly to any 2012 model network receiver using a Wi-Fi network. Read The Full Story

The highly popular Home Theater rocking company Onkyo today has just announces the worlds first A/V Receivers that will have full capability for both Silicon Image's new InstaPrevue feature, as well as MHL (mobile high definition) support. Microsoft is really liking Android about now. Since the software giant grabbed up a licensing deal with General Dynamics Itronix that covered a bunch of patents that makers were using in Android-powered tablets it has been on a licensing spree. One of the first major Android using firms to agree to pay Microsoft for the patents was HTC. Onkyo has a wide range of home theater receivers and more that it sells. The company makes quality goods in the entry-level all the way to the high-end range where the receivers can run thousands of dollars. Onkyo has debuted a new receiver today called the TX-NR809 and it is packed with all sorts of features and slots into the mid-range. It will land this month and sell for $1,099. Onkyo Announces Six New Offerings

Onkyo just announced their new line of products including four home theater in a box kits (HTiB), a new mid-line receiver, and a 3D Blu-Ray player. None of them have any code names or anything, they all are listed only by their model numbers. Cool. The new HTiB's are the HHT-S6400, HT-S7400, HT-S8400, and HT-S9400THX. The receiver is the TX-NR709, and the 3D Blu-Ray player is the BD-SP309. Read The Full Story
