SDCC exclusive toys begin to appear with Toys"R"Us at the helm, bringing on everything from Batman to Mortal Kombat X to Star Wars. What we're seeing here is a number of "exclusives" that aren't entirely exclusive to the event, thank goodness, including one massive toy set from the Star Wars Black Series from Hasbro. That's the most elite of the US-based Star Wars action figure lines here in the United States, coming correct with 3 3/4-inch inch figures and an ever-so-slightly-taller Rancor. What a beast.

Designers create a game in which physical game boards are used to construct digital arenas. This is Bloxels. You are the creator, the constructor, the digital DM in the physical realm with a collection of blocks. Once you've constructed an arena, you capture it with a tablet - an iPad in all the demos. Inside the tablet you'll customize how your arena looks and acts. Once you've designed everything, your arena comes to life. You can play in this arena yourself or challenge a friend to beat it. You can also combine boards to make a massive environment.

To celebrate May the 4th, aka Star Wars Day, LEGO has revealed their next Star Wars themed set - Death Star Final Duel. This is the same set you may have seen shown at Toy Fair earlier this year as photographed by intrepid toy-goers - today we get to see it up close and personal. Of particular interest in this set is the fact that, for the first time in a LEGO Minifigure, Darth Vader's helmet comes in two parts. There's a life support collar below his head and a removable mask/helmet above.

This morning amid rumors and a fan-made creation, Sphero have revealed that they're actually making a real BB-8 toy in the near future. Not only were they already working on a toy like what you've seen roll onstage last week, they've worked with Disney to make BB-8 a reality. Today Sphero "confirmed their direct involvement in the latest Star Wars franchise; specifically their technology contributions towards BB-8, the new droid featured at Star Wars Celebration last week." The real deal hasn't been revealed yet - but it will be soon.

This week the second wave of LEGO Simpsons minifigures has been revealed alongside a new set: the Kwik-E-Mart. This second set of mini figures has Marge and Homer in their Sunday Best, Hans Moleman, Selma and Patty, Groundskeeper Willie, and a whole lot more. Sixteen figures will come in set 2 in all - and a couple more in the Quick-E-Mart set as well.
