O2 Joggler home media tablet price slashed

O2 Joggler home media tablet price slashed

We weren't entirely convinced by the O2 Joggler - a 7-inch touchscreen home tablet intended to pull together a family's calendar together with offering internet radio and other functionality - when it launched for £149.99 ($228), and even after a price cut to £99.99($152) it still seemed on the expensive side.  Now, though, O2 have slashed the price in half, which means you can pick up the hackable slate for £49.99 ($76).

O2 UK getting Palm Pre Plus & Pixi Plus in April 2010?

Could Palm's attempt to reinvigorate their dreary financial performance include adding the Pre Plus and Pixi Plus to their O2 line-up?  That's the rumor over at Tracy & Matt, who have received an anonymous tip claiming that the two devices will arrive in April 2010.  O2 have already been offering the GSM version of the Palm Pre for some months now, but so far the Pixi - which has a smaller display and candybar form-factor - is yet to make an appearance outside of the US.

O2 HTC Smart hands-on [Video]

HTC's second launch event of MWC 2010 may have been a little more subdued than the Desire/Legend/HD mini announcement, but the phone it detailed may reach a whole lot more users than that trio.  Along with carrier O2, the company have announced availability of the  HTC Smart, an entry-level device running Qualcomm's Brew MP OS on a 300MHz processor.  Check out our hands-on video demo after the cut.

Only 220 Palm Pre sold in Ireland since launch?

Back when we reviewed the O2 Palm Pre in October 2009, we pondered whether the sheer length of time between its announcement the preceding January and its launch nine months later would leave buyers cold.  Unfortunately it sounds like that might have been the case: Mobile Industry Review have heard from an unnamed "heavyweight industry source" that O2 Ireland have sold a mere 220 Pre handsets, and that sales have been "equally successful" in the UK.

Dell Mini 3 and Google Nexus One UK launch plans unfold

CES 2010's US-focus means we generally have to wait a little longer to hear about when some of the more appealing gadgets may make their way to foreign shores, but a couple of the headline-grabbing Android smartphones have already been promised to the UK.  Dell confirmed with Electricpig that the Dell Mini 3 would be, perhaps unsurprisingly, headed to the UK, together with the tease that the handset was apparently "built specifically with the UK in mind", while Total Telecom have heard from UK carriers T-Mobile and 3 that they're currently negotiating with Google over the Nexus One.

Orange iPhone 3GS data limitations looking draconian

Orange iPhone 3GS data limitations looking draconian

Color us confused again.  While Orange claimed that in offering the iPhone 3GS in the UK in opposition to hitherto-exclusive rival O2 they'd "increase value" to buyers, some bizarre limitations in the terms & conditions have us wondering whether life really was better with O2.  As we pointed out earlier this week, Orange define "unlimited data" as 750MB; however there's also a potentially more limiting cap on what streaming and IM services - such as internet radio and Facebook messaging - can be used.
