NZXT has all sorts of computer gear and accessories. The company makes some of the cooler computer cases on the market and has a wide range of accessories for computer DIY types as well. The latest accessory from the company is the new Bunker USB Locking Device. This little device helps prevent your USB gear from being stolen at a LAN party or from a public computer.

The Bunker has four USN ports under a locking mesh lid. The idea is that you can plug in your mouse and keyboard and other gear using these ports and route the cables so that the peripherals can’t simply get unplugged and walk about the door with a thief.

The device fits into a vacant 5.25-inch drive bay and has four USB ports inside. It opens with one of those weird looking round keys that a vending machine uses. Pricing for the Bunker is unknown at this time.

When we talk about NZXT, we are typically talking about a new PC case or power supply. The company also has a line of gear and accessories for making your PC look better. A new product has been added to the accessory line at NZXT called the Sleeved LED Kit that makes it easy to add lights inside your computer case without having to resort to CCFL lights that take up lots of space and draw lots of power.

The new LED kit has the lights put inside the same sort of material that it typically used to sleeve cables inside the PC for a streamlined look. The sleeves hide the wires needed to power the LEDs and make the setup flexible and easier to work with in the tight confines inside a PC chassis.

The kit is offered in five different colors with red, green, white, blue, and orange lights. There are two sleeve lengths offered with a 1-meter and a 2-meter kit. Each strip of lights has a sensitivity adjustment with high, medium, and low settings and the lights can be turned off as well.

The HALE90 line of PSUs are available in multiple power ratings. The largest is a 1000W unit and the smallest is a 550W unit. Between those two are PSUs rated for 650W, 750W, and 850W. All of those PSUs are 80 Plus Gold certified for efficiency.

The small 550W PSU has a standard design, but all of the other units in the line are modular designs. The modular design means that you can use only the cables you need eliminating clutter inside your PC. All of the PSUs also sport a single +12V rail and will fit inside typical ATX cases.

Remember how NZXT said they weren’t going out of business? Looks like they were telling the truth, because the company has just announced a brand new full tower chassis for all you power PC gamers out there. It’s definitely one of the more interesting looking chassis we’ve seen in awhile, and it comes in a few color choices, too. NZXT’s saying that this is their most elegant and intelligent chassis designed ever constructed, and considering their plethora of previous models released over the years, that’s a pretty bold statement.

It rocks some pretty nice contours, that’s for sure. Defining lines go out of their way to, well, define it. But, let’s get right into the details, shall we? First and foremost, NZXT went out of their way to make sure that this system stays cool. It features 7 fan cooling options with dual 200mm, single 230/200mm, triple 120mm, and front 140mm fans. There’s even the option for dual radiator support, quad watercooling cutouts, and an integrated fan controller with up to five 20W channels.

Other features include a distinctive LED on/off button, rubber PSU and case feet to reduce vibration, easily removable front and top panels for easy access, and top-mounted USB, Audio/Mic, and E-SATA ports. But, NZXT has a confession to make: they didn’t do all of this on their own. They reached out to the community, and they found themselves renowned modder, Craig Bugger. He designed the L.O.S.I.A.S., Rogue, and OSIDAS Projects. Which means that you’re looking at getting some of the best designed equipment, right here.

Unfortunately, it’s not available right now. NZXT plans to have the Phantom ready to go by September, and it will come in black, red, and white. As for the price, the company wants to have it at an MSRP of $139.99. Check out the full press release below.

Simple Installation – Phantom celebrates an array of innovative features designed to enhance every stage of the build.
NZXT reached out to the enthusiast community and enlisted the design input from the renowned modder of the L.O.S.I.A.S., Rogue, and OSIDIAS Projects, Craig Brugger, to aid in the creation of Phantom. “NZXT has shown that there are still companies willing to listen to the community, and that collaboration can lead to innovation and a product with few compromises,” remarked Brugger.

Phantom will be available in early September in White, Red, and Black for the MSRP of $139.99. For more information, visit http://www.nzxt.com/new/products/crafted_series/phantom.

We’d have to say that there’s definitely some hackers out there that have that Loki mentality. Where their actions are all just a big joke, no matter the consequences. For example, if you’re a fan of NZXT, and you’re someone who gets their corporate newsletter, then you probably received a letter stating that the company was shutting their doors, saying that financial hardship was the cause. Truth be told, it’s a very well written letter, and we can see why so many folks out there truly believed NZXT was on the way out. But, it looks like that’s not the case at all.

Co-Founder and Product Manager at NZXT, Johnny Hou, sent out a letter today explaining the situation to its loyal customers. According to the letter, yesterday evening the NZXT site was infiltrated illegally, and those responsible basically went to town on the website. Not only did they send out the initial letter, but they also changed device warranty information, as well as deleted plenty of home page and product banners throughout the site. Hou also goes on to say that NZXT isn’t going out of business, and that they are looking forward to launching several highly anticipated products over the next couple of months.

It’s good to see NZXT isn’t heading out the door. We’ll be looking forward to seeing what those highly anticipated products are, and those of you out there that enjoy NZXT-branded things, we’re sure you are, too. Below, you’ll find both letters, the initial one from the hackers, as well as the official word from Hou himself. Go ahead and take a gander.

[Thanks, Matt!]

Initial Letter

Dear fans, friends, and followers of NZXT

NZXT was established in Los Angeles, California in 2004. Since then, we have produced many revolutionary and exciting products, from Cases to fan controllers. Unfortunately, the current state of the economy has taken a toll on our business, we are now facing the same financial hardships that many of our competitors have also faced. We would like to thank all who supported us throughout the years, purchased our products, and gave us feedback. We value your opinions and business. Our support contact information will continue to be available in order to provide warranty services, however, once current inventories are depleted, no new products will be produced. In leiu of this annoucement, the next ten people to purchase an NZXT Khaos case will receive a Sentry LXE at no cost.

Thank You,
Johnny Hou

NZXT’s Official Letter

To our friends and loyal customers in the PC enthusiast community,

Yesterday at 7:30 PM PST the NZXT website was infiltrated illegally. While having access to the site, hackers made several malicious changes including sending out an erroneous newsletter to our database claiming that NZXT is going out of business. They also changed product warranties, deleted product and home page banners, etc.

Well, I’m happy to report that NZXT is NOT going out of business and to the contrary we are more excited than ever to be a part of this tremendous industry. We are poised to launch several highly anticipated products over the next two months including the Phantom full tower case we unveiled at Computex. We feel this will provide enthusiasts with one of the most fresh and unique case designs in quite some time.

I’d like to take this opportunity to offer my sincere gratitude to the community for your ongoing support of NZXT. We design our products based on what you need to build a stellar PC and welcome your feedback as to how we can help your computing experience be as enjoyable as possible. Please don’t hesitate to contact me if you have any questions, concerns, or suggestions.

Best regards,

Johnny Hou

NZXT is typically associated with computer cases, but the company has offered up the coolest fan controller ever. The thing is called the Sentry LXE and it has a big touchscreen for control of up to five fans.

That big touchscreen is backlit so you can see it in the dark. You can set temp alarms and it can control fan RPM for up to 10W per channel. The frame is made from brushed aluminum and it connects to your PC via PCIe slot and the frame sits on your desk.

With the New Year here and all the new gear and CPUs expected at CES for the PC market out and ready to buy in many cases it may well be time for you to start building your new computer. If you will be buying a new chassis to go along with your build, NZXT has unveiled a cool looking new case called the Hades.

The Hades is a mid-tower chassis that has nine 5.25-inch bays or can be set up with five 5.25-inch bays and four 3.5-inch bays. The case is designed to support the latest video cards with 300mm clearance for ATI 5970 cards and other large devices.

The cooling system is robust with dual 200mm fans and a 140mm top fan along with a 120mm exhaust fan. All of the fans are included with the chassis except the 140mm top fan. The case also has a temperature monitor on the front panel and a punched mesh side panel. The case supports radiator mounting and is pre-drilled for water cooling tubes. Pricing is unknown at this time, but NZXT cases typically run around $100.

The last time we heard from NZXT the company was unveiling its budget computer case called the GAMMA back in August. Today NZXT is back and it is showing off a new chassis called the Tempest Evo. The case is a mid-tower design that fits into the NZXT Crafted Series.

The case is designed with E-ATX support so it will work with larger server motherboards and large video cards like the new ATI HD 5970. The case is made from steel and measures 211.5 x 521.5 x 562mm (WxHxD) and weighs 11.2kg with no PSU. NZXT ships the case with a full cooling system installed including dual 120mm front fans, single 120mm rear fan, single 120mm side panel fan, and dual 140mm top panel fans.

The case has seven expansion slots and has enough space to hold eight HDDs. A single 3.5″ adapter bracket is included and three of the 5.25″ bays are external. The chassis can also be ordered with a 500W PSU installed. The chassis is also cheap with a MSRP of $99.

Gamers and computer enthusiasts don’t want to cram all their expensive hardware and components inside any old computer case. The case has to have enough room for the high-end video cards, lots of cooling and HDDs that the enthusiast level computer tends to have. The case also has to look good. NZXT has been making some nice cases for a while now and the company has unveiled its latest budget case called the GAMMA.

The GAMMA has the cooling covered with the capacity for six fans inside, though it only ships with a single 120mm rear fan. The interior of the case is black along with the outside for a uniform appearance. The font panel of the case is made from mesh to allow more airflow, which is vital for keeping heat-producing components running their best.

The case is built with wire routing in mind featuring holes in the mainboard tray and the HDDs are turned in the chassis to help with cable management. The case is also ready for water cooling with holes for tubing already drilled in the rear of the case. The top of the case also has supports for an external dual radiator. NZXT designed the GAMMA to support video cards up to ten inches long. The best news is that the GAMMA is pegged to sell at about $50.

Modifying cases for PCs isn’t a new thing, especially when it comes to gaming on a PC. Those long nights in front of the monitor are not only bad for your eyes, but also for that standard PC you may have cramped up underneath your desk. That’s where getting a new case comes in, and frankly, there’s not much better of a manufacturer to do it, than NZXT. We’ve covered them a few times in the past, and each time we are equally impressed in the quality of their products. This time around, the Lexa S manages to surprise us yet again.

“We really wanted to offer gamers a solution for under $70 that offers optimal performance with out compromise” said Johnny Hou, Chief Designer at NZXT. “With Lexa S you get enhanced airflow, sleek aesthetics, superior cable management and added features like an SSD bracket.”

First and foremost, getting a bang for your buck is huge, and NZXT has delivered well in this regard. At $70, this thing is a steal (don’t steal it), and should definitely be on the radar for anyone who’s serious about gaming on their PC. The Lexa S is designed for enhanced airflow first and foremost. It has the capability of 5 fans within the chassis, which include 120mm fans on the front, side, and exhaust. There’s another, 140mm fan on the top of the box, just to make sure that air is getting circulated. NZXT includes the fans, as well as a fan controller that controls dual intakes and exhausts independently and effectively optimizes your computers performance.

Other features include the sexy aesthetics, a smoked clear window along the side of the tower, and an all black interior. There is a 5.25-inch stealth bay, to hide away any extra wires you may have lying around. There’s even an ambient light above the drivers within the case, just to get a bit more show in the box, as well as adding visibility when it is needed. A bracket for two Solid State Drives (SSD) is even included. This is a great piece of technology, especially for the price, and should be picked up when it’s made available at the end of September, for an MSRP of $69.99

NZXT announced their new Cryo S today, a notebook cooler that’s meant to keep your gaming notebook cool and allow for the best possible performance.

Team NZXT is at it again, unveiling another remarkable gaming chassis today with best-in class airflow. The pure aluminum Panzerbox has the capacity and power of a full-size tower, but weights only 6.3 kilos/14 pounds in a much compact mid-size tower with dimensions of 244 x 445 x 445 mm. Essentially, a performance LAN case that’s lightweight and small enough for traveling to community LAN party!

Most LAN cases lack airflow due to inadequate space, but not the Panzerbox. Inside the all black interior, there are two oversized 190mm and one 120mm fans that churn out a combined 300 Cubic Feet per Minute air flow, along with oversized heatsinks to optimize component cooling. Motherboard tray is removable, conveniently designed for much easy installation, and storage option is available from three external 5.25 inch and four internal 3.5 inch drive bays. A top-mount external I/O panel offers connectivity from USB, Audio to e-SATA ports.

The new NZXT Panzerbox Lan case is slated to ship next month for a suggested retail price of $120. More detail of the product is listed here.

10mm of noise-dampening foam padding has been fixed to the inside of the side and top panels, and there’s a padded PSU cage to minimize noise from that fan too. The drive cages are fixed in with rubber grommets, and the whole case features screwless installation.

Four fans are included – two 120mm and two 80mm – as well as pre-drilled wire management channels. The NZXT Whisper case will be available in September, priced at around $139.99.
