Nyko makes a keyboard for your Xbox One controller

Accessories group Nyko have revealed a collection of peripherals for the Xbox One and PS4 this week at E3 2015. They've also revealed a nifty little game controller made for Android TV devices, one that looks like a crossbreed between the Xbox One wireless controller and the DualShock 4. Nyko's come to the party with some strange stuff for your game systems before. Today they've done it again, with a number of peripherals you're going to want to get your hands on immediately.

Nyko unveils Data Bank for PS4 at CES 2015

Nyko is a big name is an aftermarket accessories for gamers and the company has unveiled several new products at CES 2015. One of the most interesting of those products is for the PS4 and is called the Data Bank for PlayStation 4. The Data Bank is a hard drive dock for the PS4 that replaces the top of the console and 2.5-inch factory storage drive providing compatibility with standard 3.5-inch desktop drives.

NVIDIA Console Mode closes case on legacy machines

Engineers at NVIDIA have taken the time this week to reveal a collection of new abilities for their SHIELD device, perhaps the most symbolic of these being a new "Console Mode". This mode for the device allows the user to close the top on the handheld device and run its display through a mini-HDMI port on its back. While this mode was (sort of) available before today via the same HDMI port (thanks to the idea from Nyko), starting this week the ability also outputs to full HD 1080p and is able to work optimized with a Nyko PlayPad Pro controller.

NVIDIA SHIELD GameStream hands-on with Console Mode

A compelling use-case for NVIDIA's SHIELD device has appeared this week at the company's gaming week in Montreal: Console Mode. While we've seen this sort of ability working before, this version works with the branded functionality GameStream, the all-encompassing term for streaming content to and from SHIELD. With this push, NVIDIA SHIELD will be streaming a PC game from a GeForce GTX-toting PC (with the top closed, even), while a Bluetooth controller is connected to control the machine and the content is run out to a big-screen TV via HDMI.

The folks at Nyko have made a surprise one-two hit today with a variety of accessories that are aimed in the public eye directly at such next-generation devices as NVIDIA SHIELD. What we're seeing right here is the functionality described in our first presentation of their new SHIELD dock, but without the dock. Game peripherals maker Nyko launched a new device today called the Zoom that's meant to be an add-on to Microsoft's Kinect. Anyone who's played a Kinect game, knows that it requires a large space, which not everyone has. But not to worry for those of you living in dorms or inhabiting other confined spaces, the Nyko Zoom reduces the space requirement by 40 percent.
