ASUS Eee PC 1215N Review

The line between a netbook and a notebook used to be pretty straightforward, but with Intel's increasingly powerful Atom processors and NVIDIA's ambitious Ion-powered Optimus graphics, the distinction is more blurred. ASUS Eee PC 1215N gets reviewed: bargain 12-inches

When is a netbook not really a netbook?  Why, when it gets a desktop version of Intel's Atom CPU, has notebook-style Optimus graphics, and - arguably - a larger display than 10.1-inches.  By those counts, ASUS should be calling their Eee PC 1215N a 12.1-inch ultraportable not a netbook, but then they might put the price up from $499 and, according to Laptop, then we'd be missing out on something of a bargain.

Acer Aspire One 532G axed over underwhelming Ion 2 performance?

Bad news if you were waiting to pick up Acer's Aspire One 532G, the NVIDIA Ion 2 toting 10.1-inch netbook the company quietly unveiled back at MWC in February.  According to Blogeee, Acer has cancelled the netbook; they're suggesting that "technical problems" left Acer and NVIDIA uncertain that the performance potential of the AO532G would be in keeping with expectations, and so they pulled the plug altogether.

Lenovo IdeaCentre Q150 nettop packs updated Atom & NVIDIA Ion

Lenovo's IdeaCentre Q150 takes its Q110 predecessor and brings it up to date with Intel's latest nettop Atom processors, throwing out the old Atom 330 and replacing it with either the 1.6GHz single-core D410 or dual-core D510.  They're still paired with optional NVIDIA Ion graphics for up to 1080p Full HD via the HDMI output, in a form factor that measures just 0.82-inches wide.
