Galaxy Nexus release dated for Japan, USA release hopes dashed

If you were here yesterday checking out the story that many publications were saying was "confirmed" on how the Galaxy Nexus was going to be up for pre-order on Verizon today, you may well be sort of like "WHAT IS THIS" on the news that Japan's DoCoMo may well be another carrier to get the device before anywhere in the states. Yesterday's news told of a man who heard from a man who heard from a Verizon representative, or so he said, that today was the day, and yet here we stand, next to a tiny model of a promise that might as well be for ants (see below), it's so small now! In all seriousness though, yes, we will be getting the Galaxy Nexus at Verizon some day soon, just not this day. Read The Full Story

Google Galaxy Nexus confirmed for November by NTT DoCoMo

Japanese carrier NTT DoCoMo has prematurely confirmed Google and Samsung’s Galaxy Nexus, the first Android Ice Cream Sandwich smartphone, set to be officially revealed in a few hours time in Hong Kong. According to the carrier’s tweet, NTT DoCoMo will be “among the first” to launch the Galaxy Nexus, expected to take place at some point in November.

Nokia To Exit Japanese Market In August

Nokia has already shut down its US and UK online stores and now reports are saying that the company may completely exit Japan by the end of August. The report comes from Japanese newspaper Nikkei, which claims that the company's exit would include closing down its upscale Vertu branded stores in Tokyo's Ginza and Shibuya districts by end of July. NTT DoCoMo has launched a 3D Android smartphone to take on the HTC EVO 3D and LG Optimus 3D, the AQUOS PHONE SH-12C. Made by Sharp and running Android 2.3 Gingerbread, the SH-12C has a twin 8-megapixel camera array on the back, a 4.2-inch qHD 960 x 540 display on the front, and a 1.4GHz Qualcomm MSM8255 processor inside.

Sharp Aquos Phone SH-12C surfaces with 3D video and photo capability

There are a lot of consumers that are aware of 3D TV and have still not adopted, many people are waiting for the tech to get cheaper and for 3D to advance to the point where you don't need glasses, or can at least use cheap passive glasses. Commercial for the Touchwood SH-08C from NTT DoCoMo is cooler than the phone it advertises

The only time I ever watch commercials and actually look forward to them is during the Super Bowl. I like the commercials that are funny or otherwise interesting for one reason or another.
