It may have been a holiday weekend, but Notion Ink has still been busy producing demo videos of the Adam tablet as the slate's release date edges ever-nearer. Both hardware and software are getting a workout, too, with the company kicking off with an HDMI demo as well as being used as a "false digitizer" tablet over the WiFi connection. Meanwhile, there's also some benchmarking comparing Adam to the iPad, iPhone and other Android browsers.

Notion Ink Adam Unboxed, Poses for Photo

While there are an innumerable of products launched every year, there's only a few that warrant a special kind of attention. And still fewer that, if you happen to get it way earlier than everyone else, you take the time to get your camera, or find a camera, to take some photos of your prize. Despite all of the live videos, User Interface (UI) demonstrations, and images we've seen of the Notion Ink Adam tablet device, there are still naysayers out there, saying that the Android-powered device will never see the light of day. Well, for one lucky individual named Van Gunst (who's Dutch), he has proof that the tablet is real, and he was kind enough to take some photos.

Another day, another Notion Ink demo video, and after yesterday's Sniffer file management run-through there's a somewhat more entertaining app on show today. Notion Ink Adam pre-order status slips to mid-January 2011 [Update: only 50 customers affected]

Reports are coming in of delays in Notion Ink Adam pre-order deliveries, with some customers logging into the company's status tracker and discovering they'll have to wait a little longer into the new year than previously expected. Out of the Office pre-ordered a Pixel Qi version of Adam on pre-sale day and was originally told to expect it to ship on January 6 2011; that's now been updated to 15-22 January.

Update: Notion Ink comment added after the cut, and the good news is this is a minor issue and not a general delay.
