It's been several months since we've heard anything about the Notion Ink Adam II tablet. Last time we talked about tablet was in November of 2012 when that single blurry official photograph surfaced. Notion Ink Adam II teased in official blurry photo

, Nov 9th 2012 Discuss [4]

Today we've got our first vision of the next-generation tablet breaking away from the original Notion Ink Adam in one very blurry photo. This photo was taken by none other than the official Notion Ink team and posted to their twitter, appearing here to be a rather forward-thinking machine with little more than a white back and a silver metallic border. If the original Adam is any indicator of the possible success of the second, we'll again be seeing a rather enticing-looking device released halfway through 2013 with specifications from 2010 and tech support from 1998. Notion Ink has announced the first details of its second-generation Adam II Android tablet, revealing a partnership with Texas Instruments and plans for using a customized version of Ice Cream Sandwich. The new tablet – seemingly called Adam II, though as far back as mid-2010 Notion Ink was talking about an “Eve” successor to its Adam first-attempt – will use a chip from TI’s OMAP44xx range, jumping ship from NVIDIA and the Tegra series in the original tablet.

Android Ice Cream Sandwich Pegged for October by manufacturer

, Sep 18th 2011 Discuss [7]

It appears that the people behind the long-silent Notion Ink group have come back from the dead to note that they’d not only be adding Ice Cream Sandwich to their Android tablet “Adam”, they’d be doing so in November, right after the launch date of the platform which is, they say, late October. Now it’s not too much of a stretch to think that the author of this news release, Rohan Shravan, has just been reading Android blogs for the past few weeks and is just guessing that the rumors are true, but there is a point to consider: he’s been right before. On the other hand, he’s been terribly unreliable before as well.

Notion Ink boosts aftersales support & begins Honeycomb transition

It's been a while since we've heard anything official out of Notion Ink, but according to CEO Rohan Shravan there's been plenty going on in the background besides the second batch of Adam tablets shipping out. Perhaps the most immediate change is a boost in support team staffing, which now apparently outnumbers the developer team, and which should hopefully address some of the ongoing aftersales concerns. Meanwhile, Shravan says the company is in the process of closing another round of funding. Read The Full Story

Notion Ink orders open again; Adam skipping Gingerbread for Honeycomb

The second round of Notion Ink Adam orders is kicking off today, and pre-registered would-be-buyers should apparently already be receiving emails.
