Nokia’s N86 NAM edition has finally shown up for sale in the US, offering S60-loving photography addicts what could be the perfect smartphone for their dual desires. Announced all the way back at Mobile World Congress in February, the N86 packs an 8-megapixel camera with autofocus, flash and Carl Zeiss optics, and is priced at $468.99.
According to The Nokia Blog’s sources, the Nokia N86 8MP NAM will land in US stores come August 22nd. You wait for a high-end Nokia phone and two come along at once. Nokia’s N97 has been a long time in coming, but the North America version of the touchscreen QWERTY smartphone should be reaching buyers today; at the same time, the company has announced that their N86 8MP cameraphone, unveiled back at Mobile World Congress, is also now shipping globally.
Nokia are reportedly planning to introduce several handsets during 2009 that will use OLED displays, joining the company’s existing N85 and upcoming N86. According to market sources, the Finnish company are “optimistic about OLED applications” and are sourcing panels from TPO Displays and Samsung Mobile Display.
