Nokia’s Transport Beta was one of the many announcements the company had back at Mobile World Congress, a free app for Lumia owners that delivers local public transportation directions. It’s arrived in the Windows Phone Marketplace today, though not publicly, but we’ve been tipped off to the download link which you can find – along with our first-impressions – after the cut.
Nokia's Lumia Windows Phone handsets will soon be updated to support tethering, according to the FAQ section of the Nokia Connects website. This means that a Nokia Lumia phone can act as a mobile WiFi hotspot through which your other devices can connect to the internet. Although the new feature is confirmed, Nokia has yet to reveal when that update might arrive.

Microsoft's push for low-cost Windows Phones will require some compromises by developers and users, it's been confirmed, with features like automatic image upload and Bing Local Scout getting the chop. Devices running Windows Phone Tango with just 256MB of RAM will lack support for podcast subscriptions and video podcasts, according to the Windows Team, while fast app switching will also be left off the budget-minded handsets.
