The Nokia C7 could well be described as the less outlandish sibling of the N8: a more sober design, more mainstream camera and more affordable price tag, for what's the second Symbian^3 smartphone from the company. Alternatively, it could be a business bargain. First impressions at Nokia World 2010 were solid, but does the day to day experience live up to the sturdy chassis? Nokia C7 now shipping

Nokia's C7 Symbian^3 smartphone has now begun shipping, making it the second device from the company to launch using the newly-updated platform.  Announced back at Nokia World 2010, the Nokia C7 has a 3.5-inch AMOLED capacitive touchscreen, an 8-megapixel camera and a stainless steel and glass chassis that's 10.5mm thick.

We've just ducked out of the final stages of the Nokia World 2010 opening keynote and grabbed some hands-on time with the new C6 and C7. The C6 certainly feels every inch of its mid-range intentions, with a blocky plastic chassis that feels chunky in the hand, though the C7's stainless steel casing is far more impressive (and slim).

Nokia C6 and C7 get official

Nokia has outed its new range of smartphones, and there are three new devices alongside the N8.  First up is the Nokia C6, a full touchscreen handset with a new CBD "ClearBlack Display" that, according to Anssi Vanjoki, is "blacker than black". Then there's the Nokia C7 - "the thin one" says Vanjoki - with the same functionality as the C6, a 3.5-inch display, more memory and a stainless steel chassis.
