Star Fox Zero Gameplay trailer summons fond N64 memories

Star Fox Zero Gameplay trailer summons fond N64 memories

This week the folks at Nintendo have revealed Star Fox Zero, releasing a gameplay trailer to make with the excitement. This is similar to what we saw teased in very, very early form last year at E3 making use of the Gamepad's second screen option. Here you're able to use the main screen as a 3rd-person view and the gamepad as your first-person screen. We've yet to see any other game make use of a double-screen in this way. It's radical.

Nintendo’s Amiibo cross over to Skylanders

This week Nintendo crossed a barrier - they've announced Amiibo for Skylanders. These Amiibo will be cross-platform functional - cross-game, that is to say, don't cross your fingers for Amiibo working outside of the Nintendo hardware universe just yet. These characters work with Amiibo abilities as they always would, but also working in the new game Skylanders SuperChargers. The first Amiibos introduced this way are Donkey Kong and Bowzer. These new characters will take on new abilities and forms - and they'll have their own special vehicles usable in the Skylanders universe, too.

Mewtwo glitch hits Super Smash Bros. for Wii U and 3DS

Earlier this week, emails with codes to download the playable Mewtwo character in Super Smash Bros. for the Wii U and 3DS versions of the title rolled out to qualified gamers (those who had registered both versions of the game during the promotional period). It’s a special perk for those gamers, while the rest of us are forced to wait for the character’s availability until April 28. It looks like we’re not missing out on too much, however, with a new glitch causing gamers grief and prompting a statement from Nintendo.

Play Bayonetta for free, in your browser and in 16-bit 2D

Wouldn't it be grand if you could play your favorite gaming title for free and available anywhere you are? Bayonetta developers Platinum Games might be yielding to that desire with the launch of a new game from the Bayonetta franchise. But there are a few catches. First, it's only really a mini-game that you can probably finish in a few minutes or so. Second, you can indeed play it anywhere, but only inside a browser. And third, you'll have to stomach the fact it is a 16-bit 2D "side-scrolling" game.
