Capcom wants Monster Hunter 3 Ultimate sales to take off in the U.S.

Capcom hopes to increase the popularity of its Monster Hunter game series in the U.S. The franchise has been and still is one of the most popular in Japan. Throughout the world, the Monster Hunter game series has sold over 22 million copies, but the majority of the sales occurred in Japan. There have been 9 official games released for the series, and a 10th one currently still in development. There have also been 4 spin-offs, 3 being released onto various portable devices, and 1 being released for both the PC and Xbox 360.

Dragon Quest VII sells over 800k copies in one weekend

It looks like Square Enix knows what games to re-release in order to snag the biggest amount of sales. Square Enix launched a remake of one of its popular titles, Dragon Quest VII, last weekend, and it sold well over 800,000 copies within the first few days of its launch. The period was calculated between February 7th to February 10th, meaning it only took the game 4 days to reach that sales figure. It topped the gaming charts, with Famitsu reporting that the game sold approximately 836,654 copies.

Fire Emblem: Awakening retail release reportedly delayed

Sad news for those of you who were planning to pick up a copy of Fire Emblem: Awakening today, as it seems that a number of retailers in the US aren't getting their shipments in until later this week. The game was scheduled to launch today in the US, but Game Informer has spoken to some Best Buy and GameStop stores that say they haven't received shipments yet. Just the same, it seems Amazon is warning potential purchasers of a possible shipping delay, so many players may not be getting Fire Emblem: Awakening today.

Wii U sales predictions slashed

Nintendo has cut its predictions for Wii U sales, with dwindling interest in the tablet-equipped console forcing a 27-percent cut in expectations, though hopes are still high for a profitable year. The Japanese firm now expects to shift four million Wii U units in the twelve months ending March 2013, being up to the 3.06m point by the end of December,  though net income for the nine months leading up to the end of December hit 14.5bn yen ($159m) versus a loss of over 48bn yen ($528m) in the same period a year ago.
