GameStop Donkey Kong 3D displays were bogus, store says

, Mar 13th 2012 Discuss [0]

Even though GameStop somehow got its hands on a Donkey Kong 3D display case, the games retailer is now saying that the game doesn't exist and it should never have been put up in the store in the first place. In fact, a company employee has even been quoted as saying that the displays were essentially put up in error. It does a bit suspect, though. Read The Full Story

Nintendo rejects game for religious reasons, causes controversy

, Mar 1st 2012 Discuss [13]

By any measure, the impending game The Binding of Isaac has a rather dark and weighty tone to it, even though the depiction is old-school and vintage in nature. That's why it got an "M" rating from the Entertainment Software Rating Board, which Nintendo usually allows on its systems, but not this one. Developer Super Meat Boy said Nintendo decided not to offer licensing for the game. Read The Full Story

The PlayStation Plus gaming membership program now offers six Genesis titles - including Sonic 1 and Streets of Rage 2 - for free download, while Nintendo's Virtual Console for the 3DS will get its own selection of titles from SEGA's Game Gear line-up. Nintendo 3DS reportedly favored over Vita among developers

, Feb 16th 2012 Discuss [12]

There is apparently a growing trend for game developers to ditch Sony's new portable platform and invest more of their efforts in Nintendo's 3DS, which itself had been previously neglected. This is an odd turn of events from the usual market standard, where developers start with the platform that's released first and then move onto the next big thing. The Vita hasn't even launched in the US yet. Read The Full Story

Nintendo Zelda sequel trailer is cool but not real

In this world, there are people who make games and there are insane, talented fans of those games who create their own amazing adaptations of famous series and franchises. Sadly, these two sides rarely intertwine. Take for example, a recently uploaded trailer for Zelda: The Lost Oracle - not an actual Zelda game, but we certainly wish it were. Read The Full Story
