Nikon's DSLR intentions have sprung a leak, according to Nikon Rumors, with the company tipped to be preparing three new models for imminent launch.  Details on the cameras are patchy, though there's talk of a new entry-level replacement for the D3000 expected to be dubbed the D4000.  However one model stands out as potentially the beginning of a new range for Nikon, packing 39 autofocus points and a 16-megapixel sensor. Nikon DSLR teaser campaign: new camera on March 8th?

It's been a while since we've had a good digital camera teaser campaign, and so we're glad to see Nikon apparently jumping in to deliver just that.  Various French camera sites are reporting receiving glossy cards through the post, with a number on one side and some French text ("I am..." and "I am fun" so far) on the reverse; there's no mention of Nikon, but the colors match the company's color-scheme and the recipients are believed to be all Nikon users.

Nikon D3S DSLR is new FX-format flagship

Nikon have outed their latest DSLR, the Nikon D3S, described as their FX-format flagship and packing a new CMOS 12.1-megapixel sensor.  The D3S can shoot 720p HD video at 30fps and boasts a broad 200 to 12,800 ISO range (extendable to 102,400, in fact).  LetsGoDigital have already played with it in the wild, and they're particularly impressed with the new 51-point AF system and the ability to grab screenshots from video clips as stills, all on-device. Nikon D3s DSLR with 1080p and ISO 200-12,800 tipped for October 15th

Nikon's pico-projector packing Coolpix S1000pj digital camera has finally arrived for sale in the US, priced at $429.95.  Expected to begin shipping later this week, the S1000pj manages to squeeze not only a 12.1-megapixel camera with 2.7-inch LCD and 5x optical zoom, but a 10 lumen pico-projector capable of creating up to 40-inch images into a compact chassis. The weekend is here again fellow geeks and geekettes so I am back with another week in review. Monday more rumors surfaced that has Apple launching that long anticipated tablet device this November. The rumors further claim that the tablet will be aimed at gaming and media use. Early this week Verizon cut the pricing on all its smartphones save a few of the new ones to $99.
