HTC Sense already hacked for Nexus One

, Feb 22nd 2010 Discuss [1]

When we wrote on Saturday that one of the more obvious differences between the HTC Desire and the Google Nexus One would be rapidly addressed by the Android home-brew crowd, we perhaps didn't expect a custom Nexus One ROM with HTC Sense and Flash 10.1 support to come so soon.  Still, if you're at the bleeding edge and you simply can't wait until the Desire's April 2010 release date to get your hands on the new version of Sense, Modaco are offering an alpha-build ROM for the Nexus One. It’s still not yet publicly available for Nexus One owners, but that hasn’t stopped at least one demonstration of Flash 10.1 running on Google’s “superphone”.  We came across the modified Nexus One here at Mobile World Congress 2010 this week, and shot some video of the SlashGear.TV media player (which is, obviously, Flash-based) along with YouTube.  The good news is that it works; the bad news is that it doesn’t work especially well.

Nexus One Desktop Dock arrives: A2DP audio but no PC sync

, Jan 28th 2010 Discuss [2]

We kept screaming for Nexus One accessories and now, finally, we have one.  Google have pushed their Nexus One Desktop Dock out of the door, and as expected it does more than merely charge your smartphone and keep it out of the dust and crumbs on your desk.  Dropping a Nexus One into the Desktop Dock automatically kick-starts the Clock app (with time, weather, alarms, photo slideshows and media playback), and there's also an audio-out connector that allows you to hook the dock up to a speaker system and easily play music from your phone.
