While the Google Edition of the Samsung GALAXY S 4 is being delivered with stock Android next month, here the Developer edition merely gives you the keys to the locks that are Samsung's TouchWiz user interface and custom build.

Nexus 7 refresh gets teased in Google+ Hangouts video
We saw a lot of cool things during the Google I/O keynote yesterday, including new Google Maps, updated Google Search, and a unified Google+ Hangouts experience. Speaking of which, the promo video for Google+ Hangouts had a peculiar couple of seconds, where we spotted a 7-inch tablet with a glowing notification light, which none of Google's tablets have. Could this be a next-generation Nexus 7 that we're seeing?

GALAXY S 4 Nexus edition eyes-on: Hugo Barra’s got it
This week we were treated to a rather unexpected surprise: Google’s one and only I/O 2013 keynote address revealed a faux-Nexus edition of the Samsung GALAXY S 4. As luck would have it, we caught up with Google’s Vice President of Android Product Management Hugo Barra last night – and he happened to have one of these devices in his pocket. Being the friendly fellow that he is, he have us a brief once-over with the device to show how Nexus-like it really was.
HTC denies HTC One “Nexus Edition” plans
Hopes that HTC would follow in Samsung's footsteps and release a so-called "Nexus Edition" of the HTC One have been dashed, with the company insisting it has no plans to release a version not running HTC Sense. The surprise announcement of the Google Edition of the Samsung Galaxy S 4 - running a vanilla version of Android - at the Google I/O opening keynote earlier today had prompted speculation that other manufacturers might wade into the market in a similar manner, but according to an HTC spokesperson that's simply not the case.

GALAXY S 4 Google Edition made real with Vanilla Android
This week Hugo Barra spoke up at Google I/O 2013 on the devices that make Android a unique and powerful system, including the HTC One and the Samsung GALAXY S 4. This introduction moved quickly to a Google Edition of the Samsung GALAXY S 4. This version of the device will be working on AT&T and T-Mobile 4G LTE with a 16GB internal storage and a vanilla flavoring of Android. This will be sold through the Google Play and will receive updates straight from the company.
Motorola XFON skirts Nexus 5 rumors, pushes for cross-carrier US release
This week the fabled Motorola hero device called “X Phone” before this week has resurged in the tip lines at the Motorola XFON, complete with Qualcomm hardware compatibility with 4G LTE across all major carriers in the USA. This device has appeared several times in the recent past in both front and back hands-on photos with what appears to be a soft plastic back, a relatively large back-facing camera, and a palm-sized body. It’s been tipped most recently that this XFON device will be ready for both AT&T and Verizon this July.
Motorola mystery phone appears with non-Nexus fixings
This afternoon a device has been leaked from the likes of Motorola and AT&T, bringing with it a mixed vision of the future for the hardware manufacturer as it grows ever closer to a pure Google Android experience. Google has owned Motorola for some time now, and as the company gets closer to the end of its pre-set device lineup plans, it gets closer to Google's heavy influence. What we've got here is a device that at first appears to be the fabled Motorola X-Phone, but then falls short with a few app appearances.

Google Profits sag at Motorola losses
While the final outcome for Google is another massively successful quarter with $3.35 billion net income, Motorola has once again turned up as a sore spot. Motorola's losses this quarter totaled a staggering $271 million, this comparing to a losses one year ago this same period set at $86 million. While it would, given just those results, appear that Motorola is a whole lot worse off with Google at the helm, the quarter immediately preceding the one just reported sits right up at the top with $353 million lost.

Google updates Nexus 4 design with small nubs, new camera lens
Apparently, Nexus 4 owners have been having some issues keeping their new phone from flying off their desk and ending up on the floor. Because of the rear glass panel, the phone can slide around fairly easily depending on the type of surface it's on. However, Google redesigned the phone just slightly to prevent unnecessary sliding.

As we draw ever nearer the developer conference known as Google I/O 2013, tips and rumors (and today a 3D rendering) of a Motorola-made "X Phone" have made their way to the public. What we're seeing here is an illustrated version of what a tipster has suggested will be what the upcoming Google Nexus device will bring to the market this spring, with a possible reveal hitting in early May as Google's convention takes place. Along with the rendering from GSMArena has come a set of specifications that are sometimes fabulous, sometimes bafflingly low-grade.

Motorola hype advisor tips Custom-order Smartphone Hardware
In a single post to a Google+ community, the newest Motorola “advisor” Guy Kawasaki has stoked a wildfire of suggestions for the upcoming so-called X Phone. This Kawasaki fellow was for many, many years an Apple/Macintosh evangelist, having “switched” to Android just this past year – and just this past month (February 27th, to be exact) – he joined Motorola as an advisor, focusing on, as he puts it: “product design, user interface, marketing, and social media.” He’s made a post today asking whether it’d be amazing to be able to custom-order a smartphone the way Porsche allows with their “Exclusive” series.
LG Nexus 5 rumored with impressive spec sheet
Here's a wild rumor for all of you, and one that you should probably take with a giant grain of salt (or just use the entire container). The specs list and design of the Nexus 5 has been rumored to leak. Google is said to be currently working with several manufacturers for its Nexus 5, and one of them is LG again. The phone is currently codenamed "Megalodon", and it's said to be looking at an October 2013 release date.
