ASUS’ Eee Box range arguably came of age when the company announced the 1501, their first NVIDIA Ion based model.  Packing a DVD drive and various video output options, we’ve been waiting to see when it might show up in the wild; that question has been answered by the guys at Newgadgets.de, who grabbed some live shots of the Eee Box 1501 at a press conference in Munich.

Intel’s Pine Trail Atom refresh wasn’t predicted to see any products actually arrive on shelves until Q1 2010, but that wasn’t counting on the motivation of Shanzai producers in China.  The first all-in-one nettop using the 1.66GHz dual-core Intel Atom D510 processor has emerged, the KND K1850, with an 18.6-inch display, 2GB of RAM, 250GB hard-drive and a DVD drive.

We’ve been waiting for the ASUS Eee Keyboard for a very long time, at least that’s how it feels, so it’s good to see some movement happening over at the FCC.  They’ve just published the Eee Keyboard’s user manual, together with a whole batch of external, internal and wireless-testing photos.  Among the details there’s a fair few shots of the media-centric nettop/keyboard hybid’s UWB (ultrawideband) system.

ASUS have stepped up their nettop game with the arrival of the ASUS EeeBox EB1501.  The first of the company’s range to include an integrated optical drive, the EB1501 also includes Intel’s Atom 330 dual-core CPU and NVIDIA’s 1080p-capable Ion graphics chipset, turning the neatly-balanced nettop into a pretty impressive media center PC.

FunTwist isn’t a name we’re particularly used to hearing, but the company’s latest nettop – the Fiono 330 – shares the exclusivity of being one of the few such desktops with NVIDIA’s Ion chipset inside.  Quietly released in Japan last month, Netbooked picked up the compact PC and delivered a video unboxing which you can see after the cut.

ASUS’s Eee Top ET2002T and ET2203T all-in-one nettops may have been confirmed for the US since August, but it’s taken the company a little while longer to discuss plants for them in the UK.  Now seems as good a time as any to revisit what you get from either a 20- or 21.6-inch nettop, based on Intel’s Atom dual-core 330 in the case of the smaller machine, or a choice of Intel Core 2 Duo chips in the larger.

We saw the MiNEW A10 nettop back in May when it was clad in black and looking more manly than the new version that tipped up today. The version that we came across today is straight out of Hello Kitty hell with white, pink, and red gone awry.

Where netbooks go, their deskbound nettop brethren eventually follow, and as NVIDIA’s Ion GPU has made its impact on the graphics capabilities of budget ultraportables, so it has its sights set on compact desktops too. ASRock and NVIDIA worked together on the ION 330-BD, a Blu-ray toting nettop that pairs Intel’s Atom processor with NVIDIA’s ION platform, and sent one over to prove to SlashGear that just because the footprint is small, it doesn’t mean the performance is too.
