Vuzix and NEC scoop Google on cloud-connected Smart Glasses

Vuzix and NEC BIGLOBE have partnered on cloud-connected Augmented Reality glasses, a wearable display that can identify people and match them with their Facebook and Twitter profiles, in an apparent attempt to get in ahead of Google's HUD Smart Glasses. Based on Vuzix's STAR series of AR video eyewear, which we made fools of ourselves wearing last September, the concept demo uses the headset's integrated camera and a persistent wireless web connection to NEC BIGLOBE's servers, though the potential applications go much further than simply showing you your neighbors latest tweets.

NEC unveils new 23-inch MultiSync EX231Wp display

NEC has unveiled a new desktop monitor that lots of features that is thin and lightweight called the MultiSync EX231Wp. The new screen has a 23-inch panel. NEC calls the screen a minimalist design and it has a very thin bezel at 14.6mm with a depth of 14.2mm and a weight of 9.3 pounds with the stand. NEC launches PA301W 30-inch pro display

There have been a few 30-inch LCDs on the market for a number of years with one of the most popular for the professional graphics pro being the Apple Cinema display. NEC has announced a new 30-inch LCD that it is aiming right at that big Apple screen. The new NEC offering is called the PA301W and it comes in the PA301W-BK and PA301W-BK-SV models. The difference is that the latter version also ships with SpectraView calibration software and a sensor for calibration.
