As well as the GO 740 LIVE, TomTom have announced four other new GPS models in their ONE and XL ranges, and we caught up with the company at MobileFocus to check them out. The TomTom ONE 140 and ONE 140S both have a 3.5-inch touchscreen, while the TomTom XL 340 and XL 340S have a 4.3-inch touchscreen; in each case, the ‘S’ suffix indicates text-to-speech support for spoken street and place names.

Florida state wildlife officials are taping magnets onto crocodiles, in an attempt to keep them out of residential areas. The project aims to disrupt the crocodiles' natural homing instinct; usually, captured crocs will return to where they were caught, despite being relocated many miles away. Read The Full Story
TeleNav have announced the first turn-by-turn GPS app for Android and the T-Mobile G1, complete with full color 3D graphics, speech recognition, one-click route recalculation and traffic alerts, together with weather updates, gas prices and restaurant reviews. Over at Android Community they’ve already been playing with TeleNav, and have their full review up complete with a video demo of the navigation app in action.
