Uncharted 4 gets open multiplayer beta this weekend, yet another release delay

While much of hype surrounding the upcoming PlayStation 4 exclusive Uncharted 4: A Thief's End lately has been around the title's story, the game is also set to include an in-depth multiplayer mode. While a closed beta for the competitive modes was held back in December, Sony has revealed players around the world are invited to take part in another test period this weekend. Unfortunately, the bad news is that Uncharted 4's release date has been pushed back a few weeks, making it the latest in a number of delays for the game.

Uncharted 4 trailer caught using Assassin’s Creed artwork, dev apologizes

Yesterday saw Sony and game developer Naughty Dog drop an impressive new story trailer for the upcoming Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End. However, some eagle-eyed viewers noticed a piece of in-game artwork in the video that didn't belong. As in, it was artwork from a completely different game, by a different company, to be specific. A scene in the trailer showed a framed painting on the wall, which turned out to be a piece of concept art from Ubisoft's Assassin’s Creed: Black Flag.

As the latest entry in the action-adventure series Uncharted, the fourth title continues the story of hero Nathan Drake, picking up sometime after the end of Uncharted 3. Fans of the series who will be picking up the October release of the original trilogy, dubbed The Nathan Drake Collection, will be well prepared for the first Uncharted game on the PS4.

Only a few hours after gamers caught wind of the announcement via a PlayStation Store slip-up, Uncharted: The Nathan Drake Collection has been confirmed and is scheduled for release on October 9th. The PlayStation 4 game will be a remastered collection of the first three titles in the series that were released on the PS3, Uncharted: Drake’s Fortune, Uncharted 2: Among Thieves, and Uncharted 3: Drake’s Deception. A real-deal movie is coming from the folks that brought you the video game The Last of Us in 2013. This film will be distributed by Screen Gems and will have a script written by none other than Neil Druckmann, the Creative Director of the original game. The game originally developed by the folks at Naughty Dog, this movie adaptation will have representation handling it from the very top - Naughty Dog co-presidents Evan Wells and Christophe Balestra will be producing. While we’re not solid on a director at this very moment, horror veteran Sam Raimi will also be onboard for production.
