2015 Acura TLX Prototype teases showroom car for 2014

Acura has revealed the 2015 TLX Prototype, the company's near-road-ready concept of what what a performance luxury sedan should look like. Set to hit dealerships in production form midway through 2014, the actual TLX won't have some of the more appealing elements of the TLX Prototype, but will share its overall exterior with cropped overhangs compared to the outgoing TL, and be offered in two- and all-wheel drive forms.

Lexus RC F performance coupe distills LFA for mainstream

Lexus has taken the wraps off of the 2015 Lexus RC F, the F SPORT version of the new coupe with more than 450 HP from a 5.0L 32-valve V8 engine. Freshly unveiled at NAIAS 2014 today, the RC F is the performance iteration of the Lexus RC coupe first announced back in November, with a more aggressive spindle grill up-front - including F-mesh patterning - a new hood design with extra cooling, an integrated spoiler akin to that of the LFA, and an optional carbon fiber roof and other aero details.

2015 Cadillac ATS Coupe revealed with Onstar 4G hotspot

Cadillac has unveiled the 2015 ATS Coupe, a compact luxury two-door based on the ATS sedan, and one of the first of the marque's cars to get "Connected by OnStar" 4G LTE integrated. Hitting showrooms this summer, the ATS Coupe will offer a choice of rear-wheel drive or all-wheel drive and two engines, for what Cadillac claims is a "distinctive American alternative" to the BMW 428i and other rivals.

Nissan has unveiled an interesting new concept car at the North American International Auto Show in Detroit. The car is called the Nissan Sport Sedan Concept. While the car is strictly a concept, it doesn't look so farfetched as to keep it from coming into production if it is well received. The car has no flamboyant bodywork and looks like something that would be on car lots around the country.

2015 Hyundai Genesis packs Google Glass app and AWD option

Hyundai has revealed the new 2015 Genesis, adding AWD and a head-up display, as well as a stiffer platform than a BMW 5-series, and integration with both Apple's Siri and Google Glass. The new car, which will hit US showrooms this spring, can use the Glass Blue Link app to allow drivers to remotely unlock and start the sedan, locate it in a parking lot, send points-of-interest to the dashboard navigation system, and track down the nearest gas station. Meanwhile, there's also support for the iPhone's "Eyes Free" mode using Siri to control things like Apple Maps, calls, messaging, and more.

Porsche has officially revealed its new 911 Targa, the removable-roof version of the classic sports car, with a new motorized panel making opening up the top a button-press rather than a wrestle. The new car, shown off today at the North American International Auto Show, uses motors to push the convertible top back, behind the rear seats, with a surprisingly retro look to its thick silver B-pillar bar.

At the North American International Auto Show, Toyota has debuted its FT-1 sports car concept. Though this beast won't be hitting production, it does hint at what Toyota could have in its future -- the name, after all, stands for "Future Toyota". The concept was the brainchild of Calty Design Research a la Gran Turismo, being conceived about two years ago and since then going on to be developed into a full concept embodying the auto maker's coupe design.
