Back in August HTC confirmed that certain models in their Android line-up would eventually get an upgrade to HTC Sense, the UI debuted on the well-received HTC Hero. Now HTC Asia has pushed out Sense for the Magic; however it appears to be only for unlocked versions of the Magic (and potentially only Asian-language models) rather than carrier-branded versions such as the T-Mobile myTouch 3G.
Considered T-Mobile’s myTouch 3G but not yet convinced? The carrier understands your reticence, and so to swing things in their favor they’ve done the obvious thing and enlisted the help of Whoopi Goldberg. Yes, everybody’s favorite Sister Act star not only loves the myTouch 3G, but enough to grin aimlessly while playing with it on video.

It has been only a few weeks since RadioShack announced that it was rebranding itself as The Shack. Only a few weeks before that big name change the company announced that it would be offering T-Mobile phones in its retail locations.
Since the HTC Hero debuted, owners of the company’s existing Android smartphones have been wondering whether they’d see HTC Sense – the company’s custom UI – released for their phones. Hopes were raised and then dashed back in June, when HTC confirmed that Sense would be available on certain devices, only those not “Google” branded; they’ve reiterated that at a Taiwan press conference, revealing that the unlocked HTC Magic will seen an update but the T-Mobile myTouch 3G and Vodafone HTC Magic will not.
T-Mobile USA’s latest Android smartphone, the myTouch 3G, goes on sale today, and to celebrate (and, dare we say, distract attention from the HTC Hero) the carrier is planning an aerial show above San Francisco. 100 skydivers will plummit, sky-writing as they go, to announce the fact that the myTouch 3G costs $199.99 with a new two-year agreement.
TeleNav have announced that, like the G1, the T-Mobile myTouch 3G is next in line for its subscription-based turn-by-turn navigation app. Available to download from August 5th – complete with a 30-day free trial available from the company’s site, just to get you hooked – the software includes traffic/incident updates, automatic re-routes, POIs and gas prices, together with speech recognition for programming your destination and finding businesses.

T-Mobile have thrown open the doors to pre-orders for their second Android device, the upcoming myTouch 3G. Priced at $199.99 with a new two-year contract, and set to hit shelves on August 5th, existing T-Mobile USA customers are able to preorder the device – also known as the HTC Magic - from today, with deliveries expected to arrive prior to the official launch.

HTC have confirmed that they are looking to develop an upgrade package to deliver HTC Sense, their latest UI as demonstrated on the new Hero smartphone, to earlier Android models. However, due to licensing issues, devices which are “with Google” branded – such as the T-Mobile G1 and Vodafone Magic – will not get the upgrade.
