HTC's next big thing will be rolling out on T-Mobile this July 2011, and now we've got a real solid date on this newest in the relatively long line of well-received devices with the same name. Ever hear of the myTouch 3G? Sounds sort of familiar. Also take a look at this review to see what we think of myTouch as it existed in the past. Now for this newest version, we've got a slide-out QWERTY keyboard, lovely construction all around, and a price sitting right at the usual $199.99 we've come to expect from big pink.

T-Mobile's latest QWERTY Android phone, the myTouch 3G Slide, is just a week or so from launch, but over at Android Community they already have a unit in hand and are sharing an unboxing and some first impressions.  HTC-made, the myTouch 3G Slide has a 3.4-inch HVGA capacitive touchscreen, Android 2.1 and a slide-out hardware keyboard, and comes in a rather dashing hard carry-case.

myTouch 3G with 3.5mm jack gets T-Mobile “coming soon” listing

T-Mobile USA have thrown up their latest Android handsets, though don't get too excited: we're looking at a basic refresh with nothing more than a 3.5mm headphone jack to tempt you.  The T-Mobile myTouch 3G has been updated with that much-prized socket, rather than demanding you use either HTC's ExtUSB handsfree kit or the cumbersome adapter.

QWERTY T-Mobile myTouch Slide spotted

QWERTY T-Mobile myTouch Slide spotted

Ugly.  Sorry, but it's word-association-Friday here at SlashGear, and we're singularly uninspired by what's tipped to be the T-Mobile myTouch Slide, headed to the carrier in mid-May.  Initially described as the hardware-keyboard version of the HTC Magic (aka myTouch 3G), Droiddeveloper's source delivered not only front and back shots of the Android handset but a few specifications too.

T-Mobile HTC HD2 in March; myTouch Slide May 17th?

T-Mobile HTC HD2 in March; myTouch Slide May 17th?

Details of T-Mobile USA's upcoming handset launches have emerged, with TmoNews claiming to have release dates for several Android, Windows Mobile and other devices.  Perhaps of most interest is the HTC HD2, previously confirmed for T-Mobile in the Spring and now expected in March 2010; we're also curious about two new HTC Android phones, the T-Mobile myTouch Slide (which looks like it could be a QWERTY version of the HTC Magic/myTouch 3G) coming May 17th, and before that an update to the HTC myTouch 3G (described as v1.2) which throws in a 3.5mm headphone socket on February 10th.

T-Mobile finally ready to launch myTouch 3G Fender Edition

We first heard about the limited edition myTouch 3G Fender handset back in October. The device was delayed and didn’t launch as quickly as we expected. T-Mobile has finally announced the official launch date of the handset.

HTC Sense arrives on Magic in Asia; further updates unclear

Back in August HTC confirmed that certain models in their Android line-up would eventually get an upgrade to HTC Sense, the UI debuted on the well-received HTC Hero.  Now HTC Asia has pushed out Sense for the Magic; however it appears to be only for unlocked versions of the Magic (and potentially only Asian-language models) rather than carrier-branded versions such as the T-Mobile myTouch 3G.

Considered T-Mobile's myTouch 3G but not yet convinced?  The carrier understands your reticence, and so to swing things in their favor they've done the obvious thing and enlisted the help of Whoopi Goldberg.  Yes, everybody's favorite Sister Act star not only loves the myTouch 3G, but enough to grin aimlessly while playing with it on video.

HTC confirm Sense UI for unlocked Magic, not for T-Mobile myTouch 3G

Since the HTC Hero debuted, owners of the company's existing Android smartphones have been wondering whether they'd see HTC Sense - the company's custom UI - released for their phones.  Hopes were raised and then dashed back in June, when HTC confirmed that Sense would be available on certain devices, only those not "Google" branded; they've reiterated that at a Taiwan press conference, revealing that the unlocked HTC Magic will seen an update but the T-Mobile myTouch 3G and Vodafone HTC Magic will not.

T-Mobile myTouch 3G on sale today: $199.99

T-Mobile USA's latest Android smartphone, the myTouch 3G, goes on sale today, and to celebrate (and, dare we say, distract attention from the HTC Hero) the carrier is planning an aerial show above San Francisco.  100 skydivers will plummit, sky-writing as they go, to announce the fact that the myTouch 3G costs $199.99 with a new two-year agreement.
