This week Huawei has made their Mobile World Congress 2013 presence official with an invitation to their main event. This event will quite likely continue to reveal the Ascend lineup of smartphones running Android with high definition displays and powerful processors under their respective hoods. We saw the massive Ascend Mate 6.1-inch display-toting beast as well as the lovely Ascend D2 with 5-inch 1080p display at CES 2013, and as it was tipped by Huawei CEO of Consumer Business Group's Richard Yu, the next step may be the Huawei Ascend P2. This device has been suggested to be coming with a processor packing 8 CPU cores.

The clues are lining up with MobileGeeks showing a GL Benchmark result that they suggest is the final straw on the pile that'll topple the whole mess in for a Mobile World Congress 2013 reveal. This device will be appearing in some capacity or another soon, bringing with it a 1080p set of two displays that fold out into one - is the world ready for such an oddity?

Samsung 1080p smartphone tipped with Exynos 5

Today appeared to be quite the day for leaks, with the Samsung GT-B9150 coming in most recently with a powerful Exynos 5 processor under the hood and a 1080p display to its name. This device brings on the 1.7GHz A15-based Exynos 5 5250 Dual processor to the game, this being the same massive beast we've seen in the Google Nexus 10 and the Samsung Series 3 Chromebook. This device could be the Samsung Galaxy S IV or it could be a brand new Galaxy Note - at the moment the details are quite scarce and fried with salt, as it were.

HTC M7 revealed by Peter Chou, M4 and G2 detailed

It would appear that HTC has sprung a bit of a leak ahead of their February 19th event that'll likely play host to the devices we've seen today, including first and foremost the HTC M7! While the details surrounding the M7 are still largely unknown, a video has surfaced of none other than HTC's CEO Peter Chou showing the device off to a crowd of users at the HTC Year-End Party in Taipei, going on to help the party chant "M7! ASUS MeMO Pad 10 Smart revealed in product leak

This week the folks at ASUS have had a bit of a leak in their pipes with both product images and details surrounding their next Android tablet, the ASUS MeMO Pad 10. This machine (product number ME301T) works with a 10.1-inch IPS LCD display with 1280 x 800 pixel resolution and a quad-core NVIDIA Tegra 3 processor under the hood. Oddly enough, inside this machine you'll find just 1GB of ram, and that display resolution is less than what we've seen on devices like the Transformer Infinity from last year - could this be a budget-minded machine?

Galaxy Note 8.0 calls out iPad mini before it’s revealed

This week we've been hearing our fair share about this next-generation Samsung device known as the Galaxy Note 8.0, and today it's become clear: the competition is on for the iPad mini. While the iPad mini's display is 1024 x 768 across 7.9-inches, the Galaxy Note 8.0 has been tipped as 1280 x 800 across 8-inches - that's just about as close as it gets without perfect replication. We've also seen a supposed early press image leak from the likes of a fellow by the name of @Clasificatearg that, even if it's not straight from Samsung, gives us an idea of how similar this device will likely be to the Apple offering both aesthetically and technically.

Sony smartphone display photo leak tips Galaxy Note competitor

Sony smartphone display photo leak tips Galaxy Note competitor

This week we're seeing no lack of Sony on the mobile front, with a relatively massive component leaking from what its sources say is a plant creating a 6.44-inch phablet for this Summer season. This machine, if proven real, would be a real competitor for not just the Samsung Galaxy Note, but the LG Intuition as well, complete with 1080p or higher resolution, extremely thin bezel coverage around the display, and a teeny-tiny Sony logo up top. Of course when you see a photo like this isn't not exactly drowning in details, but what's obvious is obvious - Sony appears to be getting into the giant smartphone business.
