Samsung has apparently confirmed a 10.1-inch tablet version of its Galaxy Note pen-enabled smartphone, the Samsung Galaxy Note 10.1, with an S-Pen developer event to be held at MWC 2012 later this month. Mention of the device – presumably a version of the Galaxy Tab 10.1 with stylus input – is made on Samsung’s official blog, and while it’s possibly a mistype, other signs point to it being a legitimate product.
HTC could take on Spotify and Pandora with a streaming music service for its mobile devices, sources indicate, building on its Beats Audio investment with more unique features to differentiate its smartphones. The company is working with music producer and Beats co-founder Jimmy Iovine on the unnamed streaming service, GigaOm‘s sources claim, in addition to new music-centric hardware such as Bluetooth-connected speakers that might debut as soon as Mobile World Congress later this month.
Without so much as a "gang-way!" you'll find the Big Box Edition 1 set of Android toys in stores this week, with Android Bell himself having had little to no warning of their release. They're all official, indeed they are the real deal and made by Bell himself, but sometimes distribution lines can do odd tricks in the background, you know? HTC could be the first company outside Sony to offer PlayStation-certified mobile devices, according to the latest leaks, bringing titles previously limited to handsets like the XPERIA Play to future HTC phones and tablets. The deal could be announced as early as Mobile World Congress later this month, insiders tell Pocket-lint, with full certification in the second half of the year. Sony confirmed it was in negotiations with other firms for PlayStation gaming in late 2011.

Photo tech firm Scalado has revealed its latest smartphone camera app, Remove, capable of automatically identifying and removing objects in-frame, and perfect for deleting an unwanted uncle from your family gathering. Remove, billed as the world's first optical removal software for smartphones, builds a composite shot from multiple frames captured in swift succession, picking out possible flaws - such as passing cars or people - and letting you delete them with a tap of the screen.

Huawei is set to rollout new products a Mobile World Congress when the show kicks off. Some of the new products debuting will be in the company's new Diamond line of devices. All the products are expected to run Android 4.0. Leading up to Mobile World Congress 2012, we're seeing heaps of leaked images and details of devices in the mobile world, the latest being the LG Optimus 3D 2. This device is set to be the next generation 3D device from LG, the first being of course the LG Optimus 3D, and is set to trump the first edition with specifications that make it thinner, lighter, and as you can see - whiter. The folks at Motorola have had their next Android device leaked, it appearing to have Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich onboard and tipped to be running an Intel-Powered Medfield processor powering it. This device has many hardware details appearing like the DROID RAZR and the DROID 4 that've been released just recently, a power button, volume up/down, and physical camera button all on the right side. This device would be the second device revealed to have the Medfield chip aboard, the first shown by Lenovo at CES 2012.

Details on the HTC Endeavor have emerged this weekend, after a ROM for the Android smartphone - believed to be the same device as the HTC Edge - revealed it as a Tegra 3 powered 4.7-inch superphone with an 8-megapixel camera. If there’s one thing Apple knows, it’s how to grab attention, and the company looks on track to dominate Mobile World Congress this year despite having no official presence at the show. Talk of a third-gen iPad event in the first week of March is particularly believable, not just because it fits with previous rumors but because it gives Apple the chance to bulldoze its name into headlines during one of the biggest mobile events of the year. It’s certainly not the first time Apple has cast its shadow, though - this is, after all, the company whose iPhone 4 won Best Mobile Device at MWC 2011 without even showing up in Barcelona.
As the 2012 edition of Mobile World Congress quickly approaches, NVIDIA sends its invite to a series of events, the ultimate subject being their quad-core Tegra 3 processor sitting on a smartphone! This reveal will end up being the first time we’ve seen a quad-core System on Chip working on a device smaller than a tablet, and in true classic fashion, will mark one year exactly since we first laid eyes on the original announcement of Tegra 3, then code-named Project Kal-El. Superman has since landed on the Asus Transformer Prime and will soon find its way onto several other tablets, also perhaps being released at this same set of events.
